We chose the Morris minor and we weren't dissapointed what a beauty , the service was amazing and nev our chauffeur was honestly such a lovely guy! Thank you to northumbria classic cars for an amazing service.

For my 30th birthday, my girlfriend surprised me by hiring my dream car, a 1972 MGB Roadster. The vehicle was in excellent condition and fantastic to drive. We had a wonderful day driving around the Pennines that I will remember for many years to come! Phil, the owner, was very friendly and knowledgeable, happy to advise on good driving routes in the area, show us his cars, his workshop and share his enthusiasm with us. We wouldn't hesitate to hire from him again!

I had an unforgetable experience driving an E Type Jaguar on my birthday. The car was simply stunning and a lot of fun to drive. Thanx to places like Northumbria Classic Car Hire, one can still enjoy the thrills driving a true legend. The instructions of how to drive the car were simple to follow and the whole process of collecting and returning the car was a nice experience thanx to Phil who was both friendly and professional. I booked the e type jag as this had always been dad's favourite car and he said if he won the lottery that's the car he would buy. Phil picked dad up from his home and followed the coastal route up to Alnmouth where he met the family for lunch. From the picking up to the dropping off was great for dad. Phil was friendly, helpful and certainly helped to make dad's 90th birthday present a roaring success, I couldn't recommend Northumbria Classic Cars enough. Thanks again Hilary (& David).

I'm sorry to report a bad experience with this company. From the beginning when my wife tried to purchase a voucher for the hire of the E type fhc. She was met with an unhelpful and difficult attitude from the owner/manager. Booking the date of the hire for my 70th birthday was neither a friendly or helpful experience and left me worried as to whether my children had wasted their money. When we did collect the car I was told that the handbrake wasn't very good and the previous hirer was suspected to have driven around Scotland with the hand brake on. I was warned about the gears , all of which I was used to having driven many older cars. The car ran very well albeit the transmission shaft wined in third gear and the gears were difficult to select. Apart from that the car pulled and performed nicely. The next day from the start the gears became very hard to engage without having to double d clutch and driving around Northumberland wasn't very pleasant. It started to rain at one point and the wiper in front of me broke but I did manage to rescue it. When I returned the car it was pointed out to me that I had driven the car on the A1 upto 184mph. I did briefly but the car was well up to that, good oil pressure and steady temperature. I was also accused of driving with my foot on the clutch which is something I was taught never to do and I abhorr the practice. I was also accused of adjusting the seat which I hadn't, position was fine for me. Then it was explained that the engine and gear would have to be removed. I asked if he was a mechanic and I was told no. I didn't want to be confrontational but as I used own two garages Scotland I knew it only wanted the clutch master cylinder re sealed, not the engine removed. The whole experience left me sad as my children had bought this hire for my birthday. The car was not fit for the purpose of hire and I should have allowed the car to be recovered from Crastor Northumberland instead of nursing back to Gosforth. I won't be hiring from this company again.
