I initially thought the price was a bit expensive, however when I saw the quality of the fitting work done, with new cement frames around the new covers, I realized how wrong I was. A first rate job bt professional and courteous technicians.

Super friendly and very flexible in their approach when moving the application process forward. We have used Mitchell & Mayle frequently over the past decade but today they decided they were not able to complete the job that they have done on many occasions previously with the same vehicles and they did not even have the courtesy to pick up the phone, they just sent an email suggesting that we go elsewhere. Very unprofessional.Further to your response, you did not have the courtesy to phone us, we had to phone you to find out what the situation was after the failed service.The driver had said he would need to return with extra pipe and a colleague since it was a two person job. There was no mention of the grass and it has never been a problem on the many previous service visits by you.There was no phone call made after 5pm, you answered our phone calls made during office hours but failed to phone back after saying you would.

Fantastic company! I highly recommend them! They respond rapidly to urgent calls, deal with problems super-efficiently with their top quality equipment, and they charge far less than Dynorod, and in addition they are extremely warm and friendly! Don't hesitate to call them!

Rang on Saturday morning about a blocked pipe which was leaking onto the carpet. They responded quickly, but couldn’t fix the problem as their machine was frozen (which was fine, it had been -8°c over night and they can’t help this)- they promised they would come on Monday morning so I didn’t ring anyone else. We waited in on Monday morning and were not contacted. My partner rang and they said they were fully booked and couldn’t see us until Tuesday at the earliest. If I’d known they weren’t going to be able to see us as promised, I’d have booked someone else earlier. It would also have been courteous if they’d rung us to let us know rather than us having to chase them.

We give up; our garden is currently flooded. The parish council and our district councillor have been amazing, giving their services with grace. We found that our sump pump needed replacement. We were told that this company were good BUT their quote to replace the pump was very high so we assumed incorrectly that they’d do far more than they did for £550!Despite my two invitations for them to attend to inspect/check the sump and pump before telling us which pump we had to buy and quoting for the work, they just emailed details of two pumps they recommended. They said they’d turn up as soon as the pump arrived. I thought that might be a plus, but on the day, after just 30 minutes in which they moved gravel, discovered the sump and took the lid off, they said that the pump which had previously been installed was overkill; meaning that they’d got us to buy a much smaller one than the previous engineers had calculated as being necessary to fend off the fastest flowing water and sewage that had previously flooded the house.They then disappeared for two hours because, despite having told us which pump to buy, they had none of the ducting for the lead or the correct size fittings, both of which you’d have thought that they would have had under the circumstances. They returned at 3.45 (nearly dusk), then worked virtually in the dark until 4.45 (90 minutes on site in total, taking gravel out of the two gratings in the drive and refitting our new smaller pump).To my knowledge they did not check to see whether the drain attached to the two gratings was clear; they didn’t even make sure that the ACO drains which fed into the sump were clear. I asked them to reduce the quote, which has left us with a smaller pump than before and no guarantee that the drain into which it feeds is clear. For £550 (plus cost of pump) we got 90 mins work on site plus a drive to Ely and back to get fittings for the pump they’d actually recommended, whilst ignoring the Travis Perkins in our village; I’m afraid I can only say thatone star greatly overrates them.We gave them several opportunities to rethink what turned out to be a massive over-quote but they won’t. We have now paid it but it may have left our house at risk, as the qualified engineers prescribed the previous larger pump as being capable of managing the extreme weather events that have previously flooded our home. They refused to come and check what pump we had before recommending a new one and actually did the bare minimum (for £366/hour!). We were clearly mistaken to have accepted their quote, but we had a very different idea about the amount of expertise/care that would be expended to help our situation.

Very friendly and efficient family firm, they were there the same day I called and spent hours sorting out a very difficult blockage in an old house where nothing is as it should be! Despite the mess the guys remained cheerful and we are continuing to work with them to review and replace some pipe work.
