John Marshall Architect

John came onto my house extension project mid-way through a disastrous build and saved me after my builders had taken the back wall of my house off with no permission or plans. He is expert and exacting, has impeccable taste, and is unbelievably talented at problem solving. The experience was so good that we continued working together on my garden design, where I got to see his genius in full bloom, from square one of design through execution. He designed the garden of my dreams, listening to my prompts and expanding on my vague ideas to make them better and more concrete. His sense of space and light, combined with an encyclopaedic knowledge of plants, has lead to a garden that feels about 3 times bigger than it did a month ago, with an organic and evolving ecosystem that feels like it’s taken years to develop rather than a few months of thought and execution. I would recommend him (forcefully!) to anyone looking for an architect for home or garden, and if I ever find myself in the position to do another renovation I will work with him exclusively.
