Both of us Loved Thorpe forest .Accommodation spacious , with the added hot tub log burner and barbecue. Loved location in forest , the staff were fantastic, to name a few who's names i got Natalie at the retreat reception and Matt the hot tub man amongst other maintenance. We will be back .

Lovely place that’s nice and quiet and a great place to just recharge from a busy life. Cabin was nicely set out with plenty of room and the kids really enjoyed the hot tub. Great for dogs and if I had to say anything wrong, I wish the stay was for longer but would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone.

Lovely stay in a serene setting in a dog friendly cabin. Only comment I would make is there are no cleaning supplies for surfaces and no secure outdoor space with grass for dogs to toilet only secure decking area which is not appropriate for dogs toileting.

Had an amazing 3 night stay at Forest Holidays in Thorpe Forest. Our main reason for staying is that we have a lovely little Affenpinscher who is terrified of fireworks and so every November we try and get out of London. We were assured by the lovely staff here that there would not be any fireworks - at least not in the immediate vicinity - and they were right! We were delighted as we arrived done the long track through the wonderful forest and saw so many other dog owners staying there! Our cabin in the woods was spacious and clean and the hot tub on the decking was ready for use and checked by staff throughout our stay. The walks in the surrounding area were beautiful and calm and the forest area is beautifully maintained. We had a curry meal delivered to us on Saturday night which was fabulous. Loved our stay. Great staff. Great accommodation.

Mixed feelings about my holiday here, firstly it's not wheelchair or electric scooter friendly, road surface to access the cabins is appalling- full of crater type potholes, dangerous for prams, bikes and small children. First night we had pre-ordered pizzas, they arrived burnt to a crisp and inedible, other people experienced the same service. Lovely walks through beech woods however very little signage so easy to get lost from cabin site.Shop small and sells pretentious goods, most families wouldn't buy, tescos it isn't!! Restaurant menu limited, not any children's menu, but what we had was very nice but rather expensive for what it was. There were no activities for the children other than a survival talk in the woods and unsupervised pottery painting. They were very bored but loved the hot tub. We didn't see any deer, squirrels, or even a rabbit but did have masses of wasps around.The cabin was very clean, the beds extremely comfortable, we had a 3 bed one, kitchen well fitted with essential crockery etc. However neither my self or my daughter could use the sofa and chair provided, at about 6 inches off the floor I couldn't get down to sit or certainly wouldn't have got up!! Hip replaced clients beware!! Pregnant women and bad back people - totally useless seats. This I feel is the worst flaw of the whole holiday and I certainly won't be returning to perch on a small hard patio chair for a week!!!!

Surprise getaway with my partner! I enjoyed my time here and would've given 5 stars but some aspects let it down (still didn't ruin my experience but just feedback for you as it was quite expensive so would've expected a little more).- Drinks were missing from our Pizza and Peroni pack- Biscuits were missing from our Welcome Pack- Feel the breakfast pack could've been a bit better and included meat. Also would've been nice to receive the pastries/bread the day after arrival as we arrived in the afternoon so they were practically stale the next day.- A lot of items were sold out on your menu whenever we tried to order- Curry night was awful we had to bin the lot as it was incredibly watery, cold and inedible. Also again what we wanted was sold out- Missing fire starters from our Fire Pack- Cutlery and coffee pots were dirty and not washed- Burn holes in the robes- Afternoon tea was not as specified online it was very disappointing- A lot of the food was deep fried and not a lot of choice.Apart from the above 'cons' the rest of my stay was perfect and would try another Forest Holiday. The only reason I list the above is because we paid for each of these items and it didn't meet expectations and we felt a little ripped off. The cabin itself was lovely as was the hot tub and the local area.

Had a really lovely 5 day break here over October half term. Lodge was very nice and clean. The holiday itself was exactly what we needed. Quiet, friendly staff, and some activities to do with the kids like pottery painting and a Peter Rabbit hunt. We brought our own bikes which saved us some money, and we cooked dinner at home each evening. We saw some Tesco vans doing deliveries while we were there, so might do that next time! Overall can’t fault it and we plan to go back same week next year!
