Oil Burner Service NO LONGER TRADING

From the very beginning of my journey towards having oil fired central heating right up to this afternoon when the chaps left having tested and commissioned my new Boiler I have received amazing service, help and courtesy. Ann was my first contact who was charming and helpful and kept on at Phil (who was obviously busy) to contact me- which he did. When he came round to discuss quite an unusual installation he spoke gently and explained everything in lay mans terms. So today after 4 full days and miles of pipes and wires and fuelled by copious cups of tea/coffee and biscuits the team of brilliant young men (and Phil!) left me with my amazing Heating and hot water system. I cannot speak more highly of the service, the courteousness and tidiness (at the end!) and the standard of workmanship and would 100% recommend them. Also have to mention Matt electrician from Paul Barlow - he also could not have been more helpful.

Mark has just come to service our oil boiler. We thought we'd give Oil Burner a go after a rather mixed/poor experience with another vendor. What a difference. Mark was on time, polite, informative and efficient in getting the job done. Within 5 minutes of being on site he highlighted a couple inexpensive issues which should have been addressed in the past and hadn't. He also offered informative advice on a couple of other issues we been thinking about. Top guy. It's early days and only one visit so far but pleasantly impressed.

Don't waste your time ringing this company, although the lady who answered the phone seemed friendly she was very negative saying straight away that they were very busy and didn't have the staff to come out even though I'm not in a hurry and and could wait 4 weeks she insited I'll call someone else suggesting I call someone from a Beacon type leaflet.Very poor.

Fantastic local company and team who always seem to go above and beyond.Our family has been looked after by Oil Burner Service for many, many ... many years and we cannot speak highly enough of this friendly and professional service (especially Anne on the phone).Thoroughly recommend.

Can’t rate them any higher. Really lovey customer service, quick and efficient. Get to the route of the problem quickly with no fuss. I been using them for several years now. Always get to me that day in an emergency.

The engineers when they have attended have always been fantastic and very helpful and deserve five stars. However, the one star is because whoever you employ to answer your phone is awful. Both myself and my mother have called separately and on both occasions the lady has been unprofessional, rude, dismissive and downright nosey. When you call an oil company it is usually because you are cold, have no hot water and are desperate for help and advice. Not someone to look down on you and make you feel like 'you are not a regular customer so not interested'.UPDATE: Response below received from Oil Burner Services. Be careful if you leave a bad review for this company. They found my number, phoned me and said I had the wrong company, denied having spoken to me, made me feel like I was making it all up and then made the assumption I had not serviced my boiler although it is none of their business. My elderly mother had called to seek help when she was confused, cold and worried because she didn't know what else to do ...... and be careful if you get a quote from them and then get someone else to do the work because Anne (the telephonist) saw a plumber's vehicle on my drive and told me (wrongly) that I had employed another company to have a boiler fitted. I wonder if my further review will prompt another phone call.

A very good reliable company with quality polite staff, I thoroughly recommend them. We have been with them for many years and they never let you down.

If I could leave no stars I would. I have never experienced such shockingly rude customer service. The lady I spoke to actually told me to find someone else to do the job and hung the phone up on me. This was when they finally called me back, after calling them for the third time. Apparently if you want these people to come and fix your boiler you have to be a clairvoyant and predict whether there will be an empty parking space for the engineer when he arrives, but they can't tell you when that will be. Tricky. I understand that engineers need to carry tools and therefore park as close to the house as possible, but rural village locations can't always guarantee this which is beyond anyone's control. Rude, rude, rude and exceptionally unhelpful.

I have just read the review complaining about the poor and rude receptionist at Old Burner Services. I have used them for the last four years and have always found the phone reception to be extremely friendly and helpful. I cannot understand the criticism and do wonder if a phone number has been mistyped?

Just booked my annual service for our Aga and boiler, for September.We have been using Oil Burner Services for five years, since we moved to Devon.We have been so impressed by the professionalism and knowledge shown by them.We also had a new boiler fitted recently, as the old one was as old as the house! Every aspect of the new boiler fitting was brilliant. The plumbers, electricians and oil boiler specialists. They work with efficiency and left our house spotless.Me and my husband can honestly say that out all of the companies we have engaged in our various homes, for various reasons over many years,Oil Burner Services must be one of the best.We can not recommend this company enough.Viviane and Mark Spicer.
