Newbury Shotokan Karate Club

My son has been attending Tiska karate at both Tadley and Newbury for 4 years since the age of 6. He’s a quiet boy and I was concerned (as a parent) about his development and adaptability into this world of ours. At Tiska, he has had the opportunity to spar with older boys and girls and form an understanding and respect for his body and his limitations. He loves it and has quickly progressed through the first few belts to keep him motivated. I love watching him too, I’m very proud. As he progresses, his limitations become less and his confidence is improved. If you work hard, it’s there for you and I’m considering joining at the age of 48 with my second son who’s now 5. The Sensei’s Mr Stockley and Miss Al-Azzawe are both professional and patient but get the job done in a welcoming and friendly manner. I highly recommend this club for any age and for a multitude of personal benefits that karate provides like the focus and fitness it’s given my son.

An incredibly professional and well run karate club. My son is 10 years old and is so excited at attending each week. The instructors have the ability to keep all of the students, young and old, completely engaged, no matter what the group size is. I'm so impressed. Thank you.
