Buchans for Towbars & Repairs

This is the second time I have had Buchan's Fit a towbar to my car's and I found that they have done an excellent job,I would highly recommend them. *****But the second time I felt they overcharged.

I have emergency 24 hour vehicle that needed a repair Buchans repair centre organised my repair to be carried out over 24h the repair was high standard the vehicle was fully valeted before it was returned to me 10/10

Very disappointing and best avoided. Fitted a towbar and Mountaintop tonneau cover to my new Ford Ranger. Poor workmanship and fitting, rollcover canister fell off 4months later(see pics) also towbar faded and rusting in the same time. Roll cover was fitted incorrectly with lots of swarf left damaging the original load bed paintwork. Contacted to complain about the towbar and offered a replacement, told its best on the market, accepted the replacement but never heard back. Mountaintop was packed out with Polystyrene which fell out very quickly leaving it requiring adjustment. Socket cable loom tie wrapped on and already hanging off, zinc plated bolts corroded already. If getting one go for the fully welded square section type with internal socket. All that plus very expense, shame, came recommended.

First class service in all regards. Delighted.

Used Buchans on Friday to fit a tow bar and bike carrier. Really pleased with the job they did, talked me through how to work everything and so far so good. Happy to recommend. Really friendly staff too.

The actual tow bar is fine, however...Pricing - I was quoted £236 (some sort of special deal they had on) lifted an appropriate amount in cash, but there was hidden charges, I’m assuming labour that pulled the price up to £286. This not being told until I went to pay meaning I not only had to use my card but then get that money back into my bank. Bit annoying.Customer service - Informative in letting me know the part was late, and when it actually arrived to them for fitting. People skills of this being done were basic at best.Free advertising?! - Picked the car up, had a proper look over in the day light this morning only to find an advertising sticker on the inside of my back window?? No permission for that given, no mention of it and a pain to remove.Waiting - When I booked the car in I was asked if I’d be waiting on the car or if I’d be leaving it with them. Living on the opposite side of the city I thought it more convenient to wait and with this being an option I thought it would be a reasonable waiting time. THREE hours later my car was ready. Not a time you’d expect someone to sit on a cramped bench.

Excellent job, works great on my 5 series, all the vehicle electronics work with the tow bar. Totally hidden when removed.

They specialise in fitting towbar so straight onto a winner. I was told how long job would take and if finished sooner they would phone. Great price staff very knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely use them for all my business going forward very happy customer

Ihad a tow bar supplied and fitted by these guys back in December and at that time was very impressed with their courteous efficiency and the standard of their work. Absolutely first class. Wind forward 6 months and on the eve of departing for France in our motorhone I developed a lighting board fault on the bike carrier. The guys were superb and squeezed me in to identify and repair the fault. I will always recommend Buchan's based on my positive experiences. Well done guys.
