Butley Priory

We had an amazing wedding day at Butley Priory. The venue was just perfect, large enough to accommodate everyone, but not so large that it lost the personal connection with our guests.The food Pete, the Head Chef and his team created was outstanding, many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it.Daniella and her team did a fantastic job ensuring the day ran like clockwork. Two of our guests got missed off the seating plan (our mistake), but they dealt with the situation quickly with no drama, we were really impressed.Overall, I can’t recommend Butley Priory enough, it's probably one of the most beautiful venues in the region, if not the UK and the team that run it are exceptional!

A magical place! We got married here in summer and couldn't imagine anywhere better to host such a special weekend. As soon as you head up the long tree-lined drive you feel the unique magic and history of the place. The whole team looked after us and walked us through the wedding process. Being able to stay with friends and family over the weekend and pretend it was our home was such a treat too. I hope we can make many return visits and memories in our beloved Butley!

Stunning venue and amazing staff!We got married here in September 2023. Our wedding ran so smoothly, we were so pleased. We truly believe it was due to the efficiency and expertise of Donna and the team at Butley.We rented the main venue, farmhouse and two cottages for ourselves and our guests. Everyone was made to feel so welcome and the guests loved their accommodation. We had one guest in particular with disabilities. Donna went above and beyond to accommodate and make this particular guest feel very welcome. She ensured they could be part of our wedding celebration which really meant a lot to us.Donna and the team were excellent from start to finish. Donna was so prompt at replying to our many emails and was always willing to offer suggestions and advice where needed. Her communication and organisation were impeccable which made us feel in very safe hands. Planning a wedding really wasn't so stressful after all.Thank you so much Donna and team! xx

The most amazing venue for our wedding. We enjoyed our time from our first visit to our special day. The team at the Priory were exceptional at helping us plan our wedding and we're so grateful for all their help. Peter Harrison, the chef, did a fantastic job at creating a bespoke menu!It's such a hidden gem in the middle of Suffolk! We hired The Priory and surrounding accommodation on site for two day weekend wedding. It felt homy, our guests have made many compliments on how beautiful the area was.I'm so excited to return here one day, to remember happy times where we said 'i do'.Thank you all at Butley Priory.

My first time over the pond and I really have no words to describe what happened to me over there. Amazing awesome unbelievable professional kind unpredictable crazy and I came go on. Libby , Andy, and John truly made this experience breathtaking. Thank you to you all for the time of my life and to experience it with 12 friends from the USA made it even more special and I believe I can now call the 3 of you FRIENDSTill the next time. A fabulous warm welcome from the team at Butley this week . Food was delicious ,the wine flowed as did the conversation ..As an almost novice I never once felt out of my depth and I left feeling a little bit more knowledgeable on my new favourite subject of metal detecting .The food was amazing and the chef went out of his way to support my dairy free diet . The chocolate brownie was to die for.Can't recommend it enough ,I'd move in if I couldThanks to Libby ,John and Andy .also a shout out to our other detectorists it wouldn't have been so fun without you all xxX

An outstanding experience from the first viewing to our amazing celebration lunch. We know that our guests loved it too.The venue is of course spectacular but the whole team were delightful, efficient and provided guidance which helped us create such a memorable day. Catering by Peter Harrison was also fabulous. We would love to do it all over again!

Excellent hospitality. Unsurpassed historical environment. Great if you are looking for something new. Great of you are experienced and are a serious detectorist. The staff is wonderful and the accommodations are superb. Love this place.

Butley Priory is a beautiful suffolk wedding venue I have the pleasure of working at frequently. The historic building and grounds are carefully looked after and team who run it are considerate and passionate. Butley Priory was the most amazing venue for our wedding. The setting was beautiful and the support from the Butley Priory team, up to and on the day, was fabulous. Having the venue for two days really made the event special and we loved every minute of the wedding day. I cannot thank everyone involved enough - it truly was a perfect day.
