What a wonderful little museum.The volunteers are a happy, friendly bunch who made our visit just that little more special, and all they ask for in return is an optional £2 donation.The lady (Fiona) in the shop was very helpful when it came to buying souvenirs. While the gentleman (sorry can't remember his name) was very informative as he demonstrated how to make rope.I'd recommend a visit just for the warm welcome from the volunteers. And the boats were interesting too.(23/4/22)

A quaint museum housed in an old Railway engine shed. It tells the history of Watchet seafarers and the unique Flatner boats. Friendly staff. Donation only.

Watchet Boat Museum
A good place to share seafaring stories with young children. Visually stimulating with some good exhibits. It won't take long to breeze through it though, but it is free!

The guide in the museum was very knowledgeable about the flat bottomed boats on display and about the manufacture of ropes. There is a rope making piece of equipment available for visitors to try out rope making.

A little museum that is well worth a visit for an hour or so just around the corner from the train station. Only small but will interest anyone into maritime history.

Free entry... quite small in size but some very interesting displays with accompanying facts. Well worth the visit and a very enjoyable & educational way to spend some time on a Sunday afternoon.

Watchet Boat Museum
An interesting small and well displayed museum with a small information centre and friendly staff. There is a fun Geology Quest phone app tour for children round the town to and from the museum.
