About the Business

St Michael & All Angels Farthinghoe - A Church Near You | Our beautiful church dates from Norman times. We have a rare one handed clock which was recently refurbished and the workings are now able to be viewed at the back of church. We are small, friendly and dedicated congregation and we welcome new people from near and far. Currently we are in an interregnum so our services are limited. We now have two services a month as benefice services with a 9.30am Morning Service on the second Sunday of each month. We take safeguarding very seriously and we committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Peterborough’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services

St Michael and All Angels Church
The parish church is dedicated to St Michael and of 13th-century origin. There are monuments to Henrietta and Catherine Rush (d.1801) and George Rush (d.1806). This is by the celebrated London sculptor, Charles Regnart. Free standing sarcophagus with life size white marble figure in loose robe reclining with slippers on feet and Bible in hand. According to R. Gunnis the masterpiece or Regnart. The effgy is one of the most remarkable and unusual in Englandduring the early nineteenth century." The wall tablet now dissembled toHenrietta and Catherine Rush died 1801

The church building has some of its earliest, 12th century, features identified in the lower parts of the West tower. Architecture is simple and plain for the most part, with a little still leaf carving and moulding on column capitals. The building adapted to changing times, with part said to have been a school once.
