Good mix of geology Sand stone from Pendle hill meets with Halton Limestone here, which makes for excellent mix of wild flora, and fuana , Palmate and Common smooth newt's are to be found here, also good population of Toads, Driver's need to take care on twiston lane , March to early April in the evening for toad and newt movement on the lane.
