Wickes Maldon

Quick Update: date is 10/08/20 and still no response...USE SCREWFIX just a little further down the road: Unit 1, Leigh Industrial Estate, The Causeway, Heybridge, Maldon CM9 4LJFAR! FAR! BETTER SERVICE AND NICER PEOPLE THAN WHAT YOU WILL FIND IN WICKES!!!!!!Purchased a patio door from this store. Builder installed the frame and the slave door but when we opened the master door it had different hinges in different location to the other side. Went to the store immediately and spoke to the manager Amanda. She advised it is a known issue so refunded the money for the master door and advised me to source my own hinges to hang the door. This would mean unsightly holes left on the outside of the door so do not want that. I asked for my money back on the door or for them to sort it out by supplying the correct door. Again Amanda advised there is nothing she can do and instead she will give me the supplier details to sort directly with them.I insisted Wickes deal with their own supplier and resolve the issue. She took my details down and said she will be in touch. I am still waiting for them to get back to me and in the meantime sitting with a large hole in the back of my house??I contacted customer services who advised all they can do is e-mail the store.I understand this is a manufactures fault but it is a Wickes supplier and should be dealt with by them as standard customer service.

Very helpful staff and a great selection of items for purchase. I find everythings laid out in the same place everytime I go so it's easy to found what I'm after. Years later still just as helpful, staff knowledgeable of products use and location.

Very disappointing store with useless lazy staff. I needed a rubber washer for my shower hose. I took the shower head with me so I got the right size. The guy on Customer Service pointed to the end of the isle and said I would find the one I needed in a blue package. They were metal washers.I walked off and found another Wickes employee filling a shelf. I asked if he could help me and he said “you’ll find them down the plumbing isle”. I asked if he knew what size I would need and he said “I wouldn’t have a clue”. So off I went to the plumbing isle. There were about 12 or more different packs of assorted washers and I had no idea what ones I needed so left the store empty handed - other than the shower head I turned up with.Useless and very unhelpful staff. No star rating in my opinion. Plus only one disabled parking space

Plenty of good deals to be had in Wickes. They have great stock and great prices for most things. Tiles are a bit hit and miss as they don't do them online only what they have in stock. Most things are worth checking online first where possible. Staff are always friendly and helpful even when returning for refund/exchange it has been hassle free.

Good access, well stocked & large selection of products. My only annoyance is that the disabled bay/bays are unclearly marked in the car park - you could see the outline of just one but because it was faded down one side a car had parked so you couldn’t get a wheelchair to the passenger side if you drove in. Also the sign said “Disabled Drivers Parking” with “badge holders only” in smaller print underneath. I feel there are some people who would take this literally and have a go at me & my carer for parking there because I’m not the driver of the vehicle but the passenger, yet we still need the extra access disabled parking bays provide & I have a valid badge.

Good customer service, well stocked shelves, friendly atmosphere and a pleasing appearance are all qualities we like to expect from any store. All qualities that you will not find at this one.Unhelpful, rude staff all backed up by a website that has incorrect stock levels. Unless its an absolute emergency, I will not be returning to this store, sorry Wickes and goodbye.

Here we go again.. Walked in large bucket with 2 for £20. Bought 2... not £20, said to the old guy on the till that it said 2 for £20 as you come in. He said not true show me, so I did, he then pointed out the small print that said it's on another product that was being stored in the bin's they sell, however this bin was empty, so very very confusing for a customer, which they should be aware of. Now this guy then accused ME of being DISINGENUOUS... Called the manager who then offered a £2 discount??? Now this is not about money. Any reasonable person would not insult a customer who is quite rightly pointing out an issue. Shocking.. and get the guy some retraining. F-

EVERY Wickes needs a Dave in their store! Goes over 'n' above. Legend! 5 stars for you, Mr!However, a Wickes kitchen is ONLY AS GOOD AS ITS FITTERS/SUBCONTRACTORS!You have been warned!If you are deemed a 'cheap/run of the mill' install, you will be 'gifted' with a fitter who is 'all talk & no action,' who takes on more than is qualified/capable to do & subcontracts to substandard trades!If you are fortunate to have a bespoke design, it is highly probable you will be worthy of an expert/professional team!Aftercare service is either non-existent or an ongoing & UNNECESSARY battle!Still incurring considerable costs to put right a 'Wickes project managed kitchen' fitted in 2020!Thrill of receiving such an extremely generous gift, for surviving breast cancer, has been tainted time & again by untimely issues & repairs.Shame on you, Wickes.

Useless delivery service. Unhelpful staff never again.
