I’ve wanted to do my RYA Powerboat level 2 course for a long time as I live near the Hamble. I’m so glad I did. It’s such a brilliant experience.It was made all the mote enjoyable by the instructor/owner Mike. He is hugely experienced and his delivery is calm and encouraging. We all pushed ourselves beyond what we thought we would because he gave us that confidence.It was like being taught by a mate.A good one.Easy 5 stars

I attended an RYA Diesel Engine Course last month which was run by Mike Coulson. The Course was excellent & Mike’s tuition was first class throughout. A very worthwhile day which has widened my knowledge considerably. Many thanks.

I recently completed the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course with Mike and had an excellent experience. Very professional and also a lot of fun. I have now booked the VHF SRC course with Aboard Boat Coaching which will give me the required skills and confidence to charter a boat in the near future.

I’ve just completed the last of a three course package - first aid, vhf radio and intermediate power boat. Mike is a fantastic instructor with excellent facilities and knowledge. Just the tight balance between on the water and in the classroom. Nothing is too much trouble, if you struggle at any point you calmly try it again until you get it right. Thank you Mike, thoroughly recommended.

Just completed the RYA Advanced Powerboat course with Mike Coulson who is a very experienced and knowlegeable instructor. Good theoretical instruction in the classroom with relevant anecdotes and very enjoyable and challenging day & night exercises in the boat. I really appreciated all the useful extra practical tips that Mike gave, many of which I'm sure fall outside of the curriculum. Plus of course a lovely lunch on the second day at Hythe Marina. This is my third course with ABC and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I recently went to Aboard Boat Coaching for my Level 2 Powerboat certificate. The course was excellently delivered by Mike with clear instruction at all times using fantastic and well kept equipment. I will be sure to return for other certification in the future.

Both my husband and myself completed a Power Boat Level 2 course with Mike.The course content is excellent and through teaching time on the rib and in the classroom, gave us greater confidence on the water. The classroom time is invaluable both for pottering about locally and travelling further afield.We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Aboard as Mike's approach is professional and fun - he clearly brings a lot of experience to the course both as a 'boater' and a teacher.

The Power boat Level 2 course that we did with Mike at Aboard Boat Coaching was extremely informative & very enjoyable.Mike our instructor was professional with a good sense of humour, explained everything with care & ensured that we understood at all stages.The course was a good balance between essential classroom learning & being out on the water & I would suggest is ideal for anyone wishing to take a boat on the water for the first time, those wishing to brush up on their skills or for learning a new skill for enjoyment!The Marina & classroom facilities were lovely, clean & well organised.We now feel confident of venturing onto the water safely & in the knowledge that we are in control of our boat!We would thoroughly recommend. Mike is a very knowledgable and patient instructor who gave my daughter and I confidence on the water, and taught us how to safetly control a RIB despite having no previous experience. We completed our powerboat level 2 over the course of a weekend and found the course to be well structured and informative. Thank you Mike, the knowledge and skills we have gained from you will set us up for lots of safe fun on the water this summer.
