Beware these are just middle men. In November 2019 they replaced the full clutch on our recently purchased 2016 Vauxhall Vivaro van, which cost over £1600. We noticed that the pedal was sticking to the floor occasionally afterwards and notified them, but when we bought it in they couldn't find anything. Eventually after a few months when we were towing our tiny teardrop caravan to Wales the engine started to smell of burning when we arrived at the campsite. We notified them immediately and agreed to bring it in as soon as we got back. We drove back very cautiously making lots of stops and took the van back to the garage. They told us there was nothing wrong, it was probably just a plastic bag on the exhaust. A few weeks after that the clutch went completely. The garage recovered the van for us and took it to another garage because they didn't have room for it at their garage. The other garage replaced the clutch master cylinder, which was leaking and then charged us £480. Up until this point we assumed that Albany were covering the cost of this, as it was less than a year since the clutch had been replaced. Albany then told us there was no guarantee as they hadn't actually fitted the new clutch, they had taken it to a garage in Bolton they couldn't get hold of any more. We ended up paying the £480 as we had no choice, and we accepted that the second garage wasn't at fault. We were going to write this review at the time but the whole episode caused us such distress we decided it was best to just move on. Today I had a phone call from the recovery company trying telling us Albany Motors hadn't paid them and have now given them our number. Andy from Albany motors even came to our house at the weekend and got our daughter to give him our telephone numbers to pass onto this recovery company. We have been assured by another garage that all new clutches come with at least a 12 month guarantee. They have tried to tell the recovery company that the clutch fault is down to our driving, which is ridiculous considering most of this occurred around the first lockdown when we were barely driving the vehicle.

Dave and Steve. Seemingly nice guys at first until they messed up the easiest job - fixing my parking sensors. Charging me £225 only to my realisation it still did not work, when mentioned a whole game of twisting words, excuses and blaming me for not telling them what was wrong with the sensors started (You guys charged me for diagnosis). People make mistakes that I understand but what I needed was honesty, solution to the issue and a quick fix, not excuses and avoidance. After a week of me chasing them every day they came up with a solution. ‘The guy next door would be a better option as he will do it cheaper, we would charge you £160.’ Another £160 on top of the original £225 for replacing one parking sensor that should have been fixed in the first place? No thank you.Got the sensor from amazon for £10 watched a YouTube tutorial and fixed it myself in an hour. Peace.

Had MOT, very professional and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Even left my credit card in the car, and they put it in a safe place until I collected the car. Thank you. I will be back

We've been using Albany Auto for years. Always helpful. We've also bought two cars from Dave in the past and he was really helpful. When you find a place like this, you really don't go anywhere else as the service, honesty, pricing and clarity is hard to beat. Would highly recommend.

I couldn’t recommend this garage enough, Dave went above and beyond for me and was able to find the fault in my car and repair it, doing extra bits on it that he had found too. Honest, amazing service from a genuine man for a very good price.

Absolutely chuffed with the body work and engine repair from Albany Autos - top guys, helpful, polite and trustworthy. They offered to pick me up from home to come and collect my car and cleaned it inside and out, sparkling! Chuffed to bits and highly recommend. :-)
