Dave Edge Model Railways & Buses

This is a lovely model shop. Every time I'm in the area, this is one of the places I always want to go to. Why? Because I have been given some very good advice for the hobby, and deals, such as the 5700 I bought from here (which was a spares and repairs model).This lovely engine is now one of the main engines on my model railway, only costing £15. What a bargain! Granted it needed some work (it was a spares or repairs model after all).There is a lovely variety of locomotives, rolling stock, track, spares and repairs item, scenery and other parts for multiple scales! I highly recommend this shop, you always find what you want for your layout here, weather you're a beginner or an expert, for a pretty good price.It also helps it's right next to Grosmont station!Thank you for reading and have a great day!

The most unfriendly shop there could be. I went in with my 10 year old who is into his modelling. He wanted to look around, the person running the shop that day said to him 'make a list of what you want and then come back', then carried on taking to his mate. Needless to say we walked straight out. This isn't how to get people to spend money with you, it's not a cheap hobby now. Avoid!!

I love popping in for a chat with Dave and an impluse purchase when I visit Grosmont. Struck lucky and spotted what I was looking for straightaway today (April 2022). Many thanks

Amazing value for money especially on coaches- 2 for £35 or three for about £55! Also wagons are £5. It is also good and helpful that it is in such good proximity to Grosmont Station on the NYMR. I was told that I could buy a coach pack or he could do us a deal for induvidiual coaches. Very helpful. This hobby needs more of these!

Excellent model shop, just the sort of place and owner that it is a delight to come across. Its secondhand only, so there is lots to browse through looking for that elusive model. My friend happened to be in the shop and spotted a G scale loco I had been looking for for ages & sent me a photo. I went straight to the cash machine ( I knew it was cash if possible" to help keep prices down) drew out £300 and drove 80 miles straight there. When I arrived and had a chance to look around the shop he had more absolute bargains

I found a lovely deal on n gauge carriages, I found them to be very knowledgeable well priced and friendly. Sells only second hand but still wonderful.

I found a very personal and friendly service today. Not sure about the negative reviews. Interact with the owners and they will interact with you. Had a nice chat and spent some money. They do operate a £20 minimum on card payments, but this is fair for a small shop. Good quality used items at fair prices.
