I am so delighted with my rocking horse! It has been made as a tribute to my first horse. It is absolutely stunning! The craftsmanship is astounding. Obviously hand made objects such as this do not come cheap but it has been a lifetime ambition of mine to own one so well worth the cost. Everyone at the shop is very friendly and welcoming. If you're looking for something special this is the place!

I could never have imagined I would have such a beautiful heirloom when I bought the plans for the medium laminated rocking horse, but if you want something to go down through the generations with you will not find anything more satisfying as making your own. From start to finish it was a fantastic experience. Every question was answered by Becca within a couple of hours. I also got the DVD which I was so glad as it made my job so much easier. Everything was delivered within a few days to Ireland. Thank you so much to all at The Rocking Horse Shop. P.S. go for the deluxe accessory set, it's beautiful. I’ve finally finished my medium Rocky in time for my grandson’s birthday. Having enjoyed the 3 day mini Rocky carving course, I felt confident to have a go. The plans and instructions were very clear and it really helped having the dvd so I could replay certain parts until I understood what came next. I did contact the Rocking Horse Shop a couple of times whilst carving the head and I was bowled over by the help and advice your team gave me.

Fantastic experience from the start. I purchased a rocking horse from the website. Customer service was excellent. I can't fault the communication and friendlies of the team. The horse arrived when expected and was really well packaged. The rocking horse itself is beautifully restored and looks great. A credit to all the team involved. Excellent company to deal with.

As always quality at it’s best, quick delivery, I have made a number off the baby rocker chair, for grandkids and friends kids, I love making them and seeing the joy when they first climb on and start rocking.

The RHS is absolutely fantastic! They are the most wonderful, committed and supportiv team of people I have come across.Having been gifted an F H Ayres rocking horse in need of restoration, I was fortunate to contact and then visit the Rocking Horse Shop at.Fangoss, near York. The visit was a delight and from that moment on I have loved undertaking this project for my grandson with the wonderful help and support from RHS, particularly Lin and Julie. I ordered the gesso and paint kit and then the saddle, bridle etc. kit which was of wonderful quality. They made absolutely sure that everything would fit perfectly.They are simply the best and I absolutely recommend them. Fabulous!

this was a wonderful experience . I bought the little rocky chair plan and accessories . The Rocking Horse Shop did all the work in providing excellent plan in great detail accompanied with an instructional video all one needs is a little patience . overwhelmed at first with the carving of the head but surprising enough it was straight forward and am delighted with the results.the plan is very well thought out and the fact that one only needs a small number of tools to carry out such a project is an added bonus and would highly recommend anyone to have a go. well done The Rocking Horse shop I am encouraged now to try the larger size horses .kind regardsDavid O'Sullivan

This Company were prompt at answering their emails. However, their website is not easy to gain information regarding their leather colours so had to send our first order back. Waste of time and postage. When the correct order arrived, the workmanship was rather unrefined especially on the stirrup straps where they looked more like dog collars with no tuck loop to thread excess leather into. This we consider could be a safety issue when making leather for a small/medium rocking horse for a young child in case of chaffing legs and ankles. Both the reins and the stirrup straps were glued and not stitched as we had envisaged. The finish on the stirrups was messy in places with varnish overlapping the edges and staining the soft underside. A great pity and because of this, we shall think twice before ordering again.

I was excited to get the drawing, book and video for the medium laminated Rocky, but was also afraid the end product would look nothing like the finished pictures. After reading everything thoroughly and watching the video a few times, I felt comfortable enough to begin. Cutting and gluing was labor intensive but worth doing it myself. The best tip The Rockinghorse Shop folks give is using the carving wheel instead of the chipper. It is a lot more forgiving and easy to handle and is aggressive enough to allow you to see what the finished product is looking like. Once I began I never looked back and my inquiries were answered quickly and plainly. A great project for grandkids.
