Visited again on a Wednesday. Reasonable food at a reasonable price.Met with a work colleague for something to eat before watching the rugby this Sunday. Lots of parking spaces available. We had reserved a table but there were very few people in the restaurant when we arrived. Staff were very friendly and the service was great. Everyone else had a carvery and enjoyed it tremendously. The bill came to under £50 for two adults and three children. Definitely worth visiting again.

Many thanks to chef Tom! Great carvery with an impressive selection of vegetables. Tasty beef, great roast potatoes and perfect Yorkshire puddings. What more could one ask? Oh, could have been a little hotter but that's all.

As a family of 4, we enjoyed the carvery. It was nice to go out for a family meal for once & have a roast dinner ready made for you. Nice to have a treat once in a while.

I've been here a few times since moving to the area earlier this year. It's clearly popular for its carvery offerings, as it always seems busy at the counter when I've visited previously. Personally, I've never been a fan of a carvery, therefore I can't comment from experience. However, my son, 7, who has tried it gives it the thumbs up!It's a friendly, welcoming place, the staff are always busy keeping everything running smoothly, I've only ever had a good pint, and the prices are very reasonable for both food and drink. Good offerings of draught and bottled beers, wines and spirits, as well as soft drinks, tea and coffee etc.There's also lots going on, from quiz nights to poker nights, plenty of big screens for watching sports etc, and a large play area outside the rear of the pub which is enclosed, but also within view of Rochdale Canal which would be a great spot to sit out with the kids in summer.Great staff, great food, great for families, and also well placed for transport links.Well worth a visit!(And make sure to look out for Ellis; one of the staff at Sandbrook who is constantly zipping" around attending to customers and making sure everyone is happy!)***Update***Been back plenty of times now and have had a good opportunity to try out more of the menu. Yet to be disappointed. The Meat Feast Calzone would be my personal recommendation

We have visited The Sandbrook many many times, never had anything other than excellent service.Carvery chefs are always happy, plentiful servings offered each and every time.Pleasant layout with plenty of seating and a relaxing atmosphere.Happily dine here with both family and colleagues on a regular basis.The other Stonehouse sites could learn a lot from the staff here, such is the quality I prefer to travel the half hour further rather than use our two local sites from the same chain.Thanks Sandbrook, here’s to a long and prosperous future for your staff and business.

Always go to sandbrook for the carvery usually very good food....due to being poorly I decided to order it online and get it delivered.....absolutely fuming with what condition the food came in....its pretty obvious that whoever got my meal ready for delivery could see that the food was burnt very burnt and still sent it out....the fact it was inedible ....its embarrassing for your company to even send food of that condition out .

Just had just eat delivery I might as well have thrown £28 pounds in the bin it was disgusting and it wasn't the drivers fault it was hot and the bag was undamaged, last time W ordered they left out an apple pie and custard. Will not be ordering again I'll go to the chippy and get 2 decent meals for £11!

The food was copious and tasty enough. The biggest issue with it was it was not warm once I got back to my table with it. I ordered using the app, encouraged to do so by several placards in the pub. After several minutes I went to see a waitress who admitted that they had not received my order, even though she could see I had placed it and paid for it online! So she took my order again, adding to the waiting time. The man serving the meat behind the carvery counter was very and efficient though, nice though, as was the waitress who took my order in the end. The place is just let down by technology. So do NOT use the app to order. Go order at the bar like everywhere else. They could add some heating lamps to keep the food hot though. And the counters where the vegetables and the gravy were placed were not very hygienic and looked rather grossed to be honest. Hence, 3.

Me and my wife went to The Sandbrook for a meal and were quite disappointed. I had a large carvery and my wife had a normal one.The portion of meat we received was very minimal and unfortunately all the veg was only lukewarm. Even the gravy was only slightly warm.We wouldn't choose to eat here again, which is disappointing.

Arrived and waited 5 minutes while the ladies had a chat. Finally served, I have some dietary needs and not really met. Went for food and the meat served to customers was very little. Finally, my turn. Opted for a sausage as the meat was from previous day, dry as a bone. Potatoes and veg stone cold. Needless to say for my small plate at £6.29 so very very disappointed. Total waste of money. Used to co.e here all the time. Wont ever be coming again. HUGE LETDOWN -10 FROM ME
