Candy's Farm Shop and Butchery

Not open all hours so check before going. On arrival there was a queue of locals. Always a good sign. Fantastic pork and leek sausages and best steak you will see anywhere. Do try the Dorset blue cheese too.... Fantastic is an understatement.

The owners of this farm have no respect or care about the people and property around them. To say they are arrogant is probably an understatement.They are happy to cause criminal damage with no remorse.When challenged about a gate that they destroyed (used and owned by other land owners) they made a botched attempt at the repair and have no conscience in ignoring any kind of amicable conversation.Apparently they are above the law as they made it perfectly clear that they have family within the police force.My main concern is that, although I am sure that the prodce they sell is of good quality, how are thier animal welfare policies?I know that they are supposed to follow government guidelines but who knows what goes on behind the scenes when they can't even be civil to their fellow humans.Beware if you care about animal welfare.If you do then I don't believe these are the right people for you.

Very grateful to have discovered this place during the first lockdown. Its a weekly pilgrimage for us now and we don't buy meat anywhere else. Lovely friendly service and excellent quality produce. Recommend rib of beef, rib eye steaks, belly pork, lamb chump, minced beef, sausages, bacon, chicken thighs, black pudding but I'm sure everything else is good too!

We stumbled across Candy's campsite purely by accident whilst travelling through the area on our way home. We had our 3 and 1 year with us who we're tired of travelling and needed something to eat and to get ready for bed.We stopped by in the hope we might be able to park up for an hour and honestly could not of picked a better campsite to do it in.They couldn't have been more friendly or welcoming if they tried.The campsite itself is surrounded by beautiful fields and to top it off there was a tractor that can be seen which just made my tractor obsessed son's day!Thank you so much for your hospitality and friendiness.

Small farm shop selling top quality meat. The Pork is especially good and tasts like pork should but so is the Lamb. Wonderful burgers full of flavour and then there are the sausages. Let's face it all the items are top notch. I go every week. Their prices are about the same as Sainsbury's.

Only just discovered this little gem despite being relatively local for many years. Great produce, fantastic service. Having used local butchers for many many years I am so pleased to have found this farm shop and won't be purchasing from previously used butcher's again.

Again and again we are delighted with the quality of meat we purchase from Candy's. Brian and team couldn't be more helpful. I managed to roast a leg of venison and make stock Sunday, today we had roast chicken. Buying at Candys means we buy what we need and use the meat through the week. It reduces the bills because we are not buying rubbish snacks etc. The meat tastes like real meat, I can only describe it as tasting like you hope it will. 10/10. Thank you

Great service, superb quality and choice.Why you would want to go to a supermarket to buy your meat, when we have Farm Butchers and Shops in the area that are so much better.

Without doubt the best dry cured bacon known to man. I also bought a chicken which was awesome. Super helpful staff selling magnificent produce. Will be popping in again on my next trip.

Great quality meat, sausages were amazing!Would love to see a wider selection of other local Dorset suppliers, but that's just an observation and not a negative comment. Impressive selection of local meat and cheese.Very friendly, helpful service, and were very welcoming to my children too.
