Waited 30 minutes for a table then another 30 minutes for starters, it didn’t appear that there were enough staff on for such a busy time of year. The food was lovely although not all items came as described, festive burger did not have a pig in blanket but instead with a pickle? Did not stay for dessert like we intended to as it was just getting too late.We were given 10% off the bill for the wait which was appreciated and our server Nat was very attentive and apologetic and did keep coming to check if we wanted more drinks and if everything was okay with the food.I would return but not over a weekend or busy period like Christmas

Great food and atmosphere. We booked for special family occasion. Staff was working so hard and you could see they were understaffed on our evening of visit, but hey who isn't nowadays? Patience and good wine was definitely a time killer for us. And it was worth to wait as food was just amazing. We will definitely be back soon!

They yet again did not deduct deposit from bill - same as last year. Don’t mind making a deposit but they should have systems in place to deduct it without us having to ask several times. I wonder how many forget to ask . Food could have been hotter for me. Half dinner hot, other warm. Service was pleasant & polite.

We ate here after going to Shugborough Estate. We didn't have a booking but we were able to eat as a table of 6.The food selection was very good and they had a varied range of ales and wines. Dogs are welcomed with their own beer barrel full of water at the entrance. There is outside seating with blankets available if the weather drops cooler. Plenty of parking make this easy pub to pop in to and refresh.

Never eaten here before. We were greeted by Nat who was so lovely. We only scored 4 on the food as the crumble needed a bit more crumble on top and a bit sweeter. But the main meal was lush. Nat is an asset to the pub, very friendly and chatty. We will be back. Mr & Mrs Cox

30 minute wait for the table which was booked prior and a further 30 minute wait for the starters. Nat was very attentive and kind. She checked in with us multiple times and did give us a table as soon as she could. The food was amazing and really tasty but the delay wasn’t great- I can understand if it was a walk in wait but it’s clearly busy at Christmas. We did have the pig in blanket missing from the festive burger and stuffing missing from the Turkey dinner.Massive thanks to Nat for being so kind and coming back to us. She gave us 10% off for the wait and being sat at a table in the bar rather than the restaurant which she didn’t have to do and it was much appreciated.

Visited here for lunch whilst on a walk along the canal and into Cannock Chase. It's right by a busy roundabout and main roads which meant sitting outside was noisy so we went inside where they have lots of tables. Good selection of beers and cider etc and lots to choose from on the menu including gluten free options. It was busy on the April weekday lunchtime we went so we had to wait a while for our meals to arrive but it was worth it as they were excellent.
