Quirky Campers - Campervan Hire

Bess was the best! The fit out was superbly thought through, and it functioned so well for what we were after.She was big enough to provide all the space and utilities we needed but not too big that it acted like a bus.Couldn't recommend her more highly.GO BESS!

We absolutely loved Bess, what a delightful campervan. The owners have paid so much attention to detail in designing and building her. Every little thing has been thought of from plenty of hooks and magnetic shelving through to the way the utilities work and the gorgeous interior design - she even has mirrors, which are usually missing in most campervans. We're a couple, so we were able to leave the bed up in place all week - oh! the bed! let me tell you about the bed...the most comfortable campervan bed we've slept on to date, so very comfortable. In fact, I've slept in more uncomfortable proper beds! We therefore used the front table for our meals. All of the crockery and cutlery and pan sets are really high quality and we had everything we needed to cook from scratch, including good quality knives for chopping. We didn't use the oven and grill but it was great to have the option. The induction hob for use in the 'outdoor kitchen' (under the awning) is fabulous and meant we could cook smelly things like fish and sausages outside and not make the van smell. A great van to drive, we took Bess to the Yorkshire Dales, all around the Lake District, and even over to the Peak District. We highly recommend Bess and would definitely hire her again.

Blencathra- Amazing van and service. From first contact to finish, Lisa the owner, has been brilliant. Answering all queries and giving advice for trip. Van was taken from Mcr all the way to Fort William and back and was a dream to drive. Very comfortable inside, with loads of features. We managed 4 nights without needed any hookup or additional water (4 extra provided). Will definitely be booking again

Wow, what an experience! Our European road trip from the UK to Slovenia (via Belgium, Germany and Austria) with the campervan Bee was the trip of a lifetime, and the first time we'd ever embarked on such a journey. Bee is a super comfortable van, really well designed for a complete 'off the grid' experience with the solar power, diesel fuel cooker and onboard WiFi working like a charm. Perfect for beginners (like us) or for more experience van lifers who are looking for a really easy-to-use and well equipped vehicle. And as for Bee's owners, Rich is amazing, really helpful and communicative, he was always available for any queries we had. He really has thought of everything when it comes to what you might need on the road, and the care and attention that has been put into Bee really shines through. We will definitely be booking with them again for a future trip, and we can't recommend Bee highly enough!

We hired Bee from Rich for two weeks and we had the best time doing the north coast 500. Rich was really helpful with all of our questions and the camper was lovely. We definitely recommend Bee.

Just home from a wonderful stay in Bumble. Bumble was spotlessly clean when we arrived and Rich, Bumbles owner, very helpful and welcoming. Bumble is very dog friendly and Pip even had her own welcome basket of goodies! I found Bumble easy to drive as soon as I got used to not having a clutch, which didn't take long. Although the weather was very wet and windy we were both very warm and dry when not out and about. The lighting is very adjustable and although it was cloudy throughout our stay the battery recharged everyday providing enough lighting and mobile phone charging. One evening we had a 'diner party' with friends and by using the bed as extra seating we enjoyed a lovely cosy evening together. The bed is very comfortable and the window in the roof over it is slightly tinted giving a nice sunny light inside during the day. Plenty of storage, and plates and cutlery etc and the fridge holds more than I expected. I contacted Rich a couple of times, to let him know Bumble had arrived safely and just for a little advice on where to top up the diesel - not with problems as the 'How to Bumble' info sheets gives very full instructions for everything - and he answered immediately which I found very reassuring. The only downside was that we couldn't have stayed for longer!

I hired Blencathra for a weekend in January so I was able to put her heating and insulation to the test...and she didn't let me down. I had a very cozy few nights and Blencathra came very well equipped with everything I could have wanted.Lisa was really helpful in the run up to the hire, and was happy to spend some time helping me get comfortable with driving; having driven only an automatic for many years a bit of advice getting used to a manual again was gratefully received! The information Lisa gave me during the handover was spot on and it was evident that she had put time, thought and effort into making sure I had a successful and enjoyable hire. I'd definitely recommend hiring from Lisa for an memorable holiday.

We had a great few days taking Bess to the Lake District. The van is so well designed, beautifully equipped and really comfortable. We had our 20 month old with us and had ample space. It’s a really perfect family van and the ideal way to have a memorable, unplugged and relaxing trip away. We can’t wait to book for more trips in the future :)

New Years Van-VentureBumble's Owners were fantastic at preparing me ( as a VanVenture newbie) for my trip with lots of information supplied and swift answers to questions via email.Being able to leave my car was useful and Bumble lived up to my dreams, looking better than the photos. I really appreciated all the little touches like the gift baskets ( for me AND the dogs). Also all the drawers full of everything you might need.Bumble kept us warm and safe for a New Year's Eve adventure in the middle of nowhere. Through floods, storms, snow and minus temperatures we were cosy and had an absolute ball! Totally exceeded expectations. Thanks so much

We were lucky enough to have enjoyed Blencathra for 2 weeks as we adventured across the UK and Ireland. She had everything we needed for our time which made it very comfortable. She was a great size and found it easy enough to drive and park. You can’t go past the awesome style of her interior, we just loved it!! Lisa was also amazing, the friendly face we were so happy to see when we had just flew from the other side of the world ☺️ (thank you again!!) love love loved our time with her and have already recommended to friends!
