Did a super job looking after 50 of us, really lovely staff, dog friendly. It's a small pub but it's homely has a fireplace and a little upstairs area, along with a cute garden space.

The Bell Free House is hands down the greatest pub in this beautiful town! I love it! I've always loved it. The beer is delicious and the staff are amazing. Nothing like crashing a Quiz night (trivia for us Colonist) and bringing in some clutch American answers (like Ty Cobb; May 2022 quiz night). I stayed here when I was a kid in 2000 upstairs and if I could I'd stay again. Thank you for making my stay in wild and wonderful Whitty!

Extremely friendly and welcome staff and very dog friendly (fed our dogs biscuits at least 3x). Service good and we both had a breakfast around midday which was just perfect. We would return

Friendly, old fashioned pub, inexpensive beer. The locals are friendly and willing to engage in conversation. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

We popped in here for a couple of beers whilst staying down the road for the night. It's definitely a locals pub where everyone knows each other. We have never felt so welcome in a locals pub, everyone was happy to chat, let us have a turn on the pool table. The friendliest german shepherd happily played along with us. One gent even went out of his way to find the bus timetable so we would be back in time for dinner.I wish this was our local!

They don't make pubs like this anymore. Good beer and food. Nothing fancy just wholesome grub. A 50p pool table as well.
