Beautiful place to go for a walk, walk your dog's, go for a run or teach your kids to ride a bike. There are plenty of benches and bins located all around the cemetery. It's the perfect place to sit and read a book.

Very interesting to note the history of those who arrived here from far off lands and settled here. You can read their stories on their gravestones. You can also get the sense of how Portsmouth supported the Poles, the Jews, others who likely left their country for more safety and opportunity. It's a huge place and we walked there from Gunwarf Quays where we live - so we were tired by the time we got half way through. Take note of the stone structures. Built with flint stone. The speckled look is intriguingly fascinating.

Lovely place to be. Laid my6 year old boy to rest there... except Tony and Eddie the grave diggers. Maintenance men... well!.... got some words.. maybe not the place for it! But clearly got a chip on his little shoulder (tony)...

Good green space in the Fratton Area.Different areas in the cemetery with Jewish and Muslim separate areas.Big long main driveway through the cemetery and also houses on both sides of cemetery for cemetery wardens.Right next to train mainline in and out of Portsmouth and also opposite Park/Green Area on St Mary's Road in Portsmouth.

Not for everyone but I love to walk around a cemetery purely for the peace and quiet and to reflect on life, I also love the gothic art and the extremely friendly squirrels ☺️

I have a lot of family buried here and often take my elderly dad to visit. I live away from the area now and work so weekends are the only time I can make it. The Cemetary itself is lovely and well cared for but I get very frustrated that I should have to plan my visits around Pompey home matches.. The Cemetary gates are closed to drive in visitors on match days. I can fully understand why but it's very unfair to Cemetary visitors because there isn't any where to park and my dad doesn't walk very far. Why can't Pompey pay for someone to stand at the gate and let the genuine visitors in on match days or at least have the gates open whilst the match is on. I'm not normally a person to rant but I get so frustrated.
