Lovely cafe, the children's play space above is a real gem! The food was lovely but a longer wait than we anticipated for such a limited lunch menu. Wasn't blown away by the children's sandwiches when paying £5. The drinks were fantastic and the staff lovely

I visited this café in February and posted a less than enthusiastic review - due to the poor service.Have just visited again and it could not have been more different. This time very friendly and efficient staff.As usual the cakes and sourdough sandwiches very good.Facilities clean and useful seating.What a transformation!

What a little gem. It’s great to have such a lovely place in town! Located in the park with easy access and free parking. Great breakfast and amazing coffee. They also have Mini Town play upstairs for little ones. Also to mention they cater for all dietary needs - vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. They have a lot of knowledge when it comes to allergies which is a real bonus these days. Will definitely be our regular stop on our walks.

Pretty decent place specialising in English breakfasts, with some posh/new-age items thrown in. Apart from the usual stuff, the crispy chickpeas added as garnish on a few dishes was really inspired. The cakes and desserts were awesome. It's quite roomy, the staff are friendly and it is great for families with kids.

Not our first visit to the River Cale Cafe so that says it all really. It’s a marvellous cafe ideal for a good lunch in pleasant surroundings. A limited menu but good value for money, staff are pleasant and helpful, outside parking close to cafe is also limited but l park in the parks car park and then have a short walk to the cafe! So give it a go you may enjoy it there as well as we do!

Absolutely lovely breakfast.We was greeted by a cosy atmosphere & friendly staff. Staff were allergen aware and catered for my dairy intolerance and had lots of dairy/vegan alternatives I could have, which isn’t as common as you’d like to think.All of our food was highly thought of and my chilli, avocado and toast was fantastic. I could even have a hot chocolate as they did a dairy free alternative (thank you!!). James also had the breakfast sandwich which was delicious.Well priced & a good amount of food for it too. We will be back again to try more of the delicious menu

Gluten and dairy free haven!I was introduced to this cafe yesterday by a friend and the breakfasts we had were simply delicious. So good in fact I've come back with my husband for round two the very next day.The chef is a coeliac herself and she uses top quality ingredients. I can't tell you how much relief I feel to find somewhere I can eat with confidence. It's a very rare treat.I love the decor, atmosphere and simply delicious menu highlighting great local produce. The coffee is great and there are plenty of dairy free milk options.

Just had the nicest breakfast at River Cale Cafè, ‘posh avocado’ - avocado on nicely toasted sourdough bread, with fresh cherrie tomatoes, rocket and a drizzle of dressing. Topped off with two delicious, thick cut rashers of bacon. Had an Americano on the side as well, very reasonable for £10 and a pleasant start to the day! I’m only a 2 min walk from the cafe and can’t believe I haven’t been here for a few years, certainly going to change that now - would highly recommend! 10/10!
