After being away on holidays we wanted to eat some Nigerian food. A Google search of nearest Nigerian restaurant to Luton airport led us to Pases Lounge - 14 minutes drive from the airport. Small but lovely restaurant with tasty food and good drinks. We had jollof rice, fried rice and abula. The kids enjoyed the meal and are now looking for any excuse to visit Luton so they can eat here again! The staff were pleasant and helpful. Will highly recommend this place

I’ve read so many 5* reviews of this place and it honestly surprised me that people had such an amazing experience of this restaurant because I had the exact opposite experience.A few months ago, we went there during opening time around lunch on a weekend and we saw a lady who was simply wearing jeans, a top and a cardigan. The first thing the lady said was ‘what do you want?’ as in why were we there? My husband replied back ‘err some food maybe?’. We were a bit stunned but stayed as we heard good things about the food and tried to give her the benefit of the doubt by seeing the funny side of it. She didn’t even greet us or smile at us to make us feel welcome. We asked for a table for 2 and asked for water. She gave us 2 glasses and one of them had a lipstick stain which meant that it had not been cleaned. My husband pointed this out so she took it back without even apologising that she had given us a dirty glass. Our food (egusi soup, fufu and jollof rice with chicken) came and we were given plates which we noticed that one of them was dirty – we pointed this out again and she stated very rudely that ‘IT IS CLEAN’ to which my husband replied that it was not and that this is ridiculous as to how she could tell us it was clean when we could all see that it was visibly dirty. She backed down immediately, rolled her eyes and kissed her teeth – once again showing no manners and customer service. The portions were of a decent size, and we had some food left over which we wanted to take home so we asked for a container to pack the food up and the bill. The bill itself was simply a piece of paper with a price written on it (not a printed or written itemised receipt displaying the cost of each item and the service charge) we noticed that the price of the food had come up to more than what we had expected. We asked to see the menu again and pointed out the fact she had over charged us – turns out none of the food had the right price on the menu and they were at least £1-2 more than what was stated on the menu.Whilst the food was lovely and full of flavour, the atrocious customer service stunned us as we had never been treated like this before. There were 2 other men on another table who had watched most of this happen. When the lady went to the back to get us a container, the men jokingly told us that the way to know if the food is good is to be treated poorly and for the actual food prices to be different to the menu.I don’t think the people at this restaurant are used to non-Nigerians coming to their establishment, but they need to take a few lessons on how to treat their customers and professionalism in the food industry. They could attract more customers if people hear how good the place is instead of negative reviews like this which could potentially deter non-Nigerians from dining at their restaurant and ultimately losing out on money.

The best!!! Can't recommend this place enough - fufu and vegetarian dishes are out of this world, super flavoursome and rich, amazing quality. The service is brilliant, super friendly people, always greeting you with a smile. Will be visiting this place every time we are in the area.

One of my favourite African restaurant and the best in Luton. The food was really nice and fantastic. Very comfortable and a peaceful environment. Nice staff and friendly service. Also at affordable prices. Will always love to get food there whenever I come around.

I ordered pounded yam and egusi through Uber eats and I just wasted my money. The soup was very stale. I ended up throwing it into the bin. I just removed the pieces of meat and rinsed them with water. I have reported this issue to Uber eats. It’s not safe to serve customers stale food.
