One of London's best kept gems. From hot men to hot trans and one of London's best bar owners the hugely welcoming Ted of Ted's Place. If you want discreet old style cruising with hot friendly men on this side of London you can't do better. From a warm welcome at the door to the acerbic wit of the host you know you've found a bar with real personality that deserves to be loved and treasured.

I’ve been here for the first time and the location is indeed as described in the guides. A bit old, typical London style. I’ve met a local Brit guy who makes me give 5 stars. I’ve got a good time and hope to come back. The owner is a very nice guy who gave us good tips for the New Year’s Eve.

Ted's place is really, really friendly. It's been there for decades, not judging, offering an inclusive, friendly, tolerant, welcoming space. Thursdays and Sundays are for t-girls and admirers. There are other days for other people who have had to fight the fight ...A stool at the bar can lead to the loveliest conversations. And for those who would like more, there is the potential for more.Respect.

I always enjoy my time here. Love chatting it up with Ted and his husband. The bar starts heating up about 12 and it gets pretty busy. Will be back soon

From the comments, I may have missed the action tonight. It happens. The guys were super friendly with me. Too bad I missed out.

This is one of those places that makes you feel as if you've stepped back in time to a gay venue of the late 80s or early 90s. But depending on what you like, that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's very much in the mould of a dive bar, with it's down at heel decor, and the toilets, whilst OK, could do with a bit of modernising and a lick of paint. However, that all goes to create a very easy going, unpretentious vibe. It's not like some of the places in Soho which can make you feel a bit self-conscious, as the emphasis is on having fun than trying to be cool.My favourite night is the monthly club night (first Saturday of every month) which is a men-only clothing optional evening. Might sound a bit weird, but the atmosphere is very relaxed and, as the booze flows, there is a sense that anything goes. And it does! So if you enjoy getting naked, or staying dressed whilst hanging out with naked men, then this is the night for you.I always find the guys here quite friendly and easy to chat to so if you're considering going on your own - and quite a few of the guys there appeared to have done that - then you'll more than likely find some company if you want to.My one suggestion for management is to turn the lights down just a little as the night wears on, to give the bar an even more cozy vibe, and to get people in the mood, but that's a minor quibble, really.Overall, it's a great little bar in London's ever diminishing gay scene and one that's definitely worth a visit

TED is an amazing and kind host. He made me feel very much welcome and comfortable. I spent two amazing socializing trans nights (Sunday and Monday) during my first time visit to London. Met many locals and regulars who are extremely friendly, cool and easy going. Will definitely come back here once again when I am in town next time.

A discreet friendly place for all trans & their admirers, curious and beyond or you just want to try out the sling, you know you want to. I'm not trans nor straight, it's in my name, legally! Buying a drink for any working staff will earn you a nice place, here's a cheat, say you're a friend of Chelsea and say no more.

Never anyone there besides old men, 5 old men in the whole club and 1 trans, always empty :/ as they pick Thursdays and Sunday’s when no one goes clubbing, toilets are dingy and always occupied. Only one security staff member, not worth the money as I left after 10 minutes
