West Road Surgery

Staff are very rude takes a long time to get through once you do.get through no one can be bothered when you complain they just put you on hold. Will be going somewhere else a lot of people who are with them have told me they have all had same problems

By far the worst surgery I have ever been to. I have been living in Wales and they are brilliant compared to this. I tried to re-register at West Surgery during the summer and after being assured that I would be signed up within 3 days, I called back 9 days later and it still wasn’t done. I needed medication urgently. Only when I asked them again, it was done. It may take an extremely long time to eventually get through in the afternoon, even if you are left in queue position no. 1. This is just one of many poor experiences i’ve had at this surgery, from inter-professional miscommunication to incorrect amount of medication prescribed. The receptionists are also quite aggressive and talk to each other about non-work topics while patients wait.The 8am system is disgraceful. I do not understand why the system does not allow a simple queue of callers in order of who called first (this is what many other surgeries do). I have been registered to many surgeries in the UK and this is by far the worst.

I have a painful knee infection spent over an hour trying to to get through ringing and ringing in a queue. Only to be told to ring back later. I told the woman how do I do that I have to go to work all day. I said why don't you tell people on an answer phone message all the appointments are gone, at least then they wouldn't all be wasting their time. Simply not fit for purpose. Useless

I’ve been with this surgery for a while now, admittedly it can be hard to get through on the phones and it would be great if they could improve that hence 4 instead of 5 stars. I saw Dr Otte yesterday who was fantastic. He listened, was caring and I didn’t feel rushed; he also respects your privacy and is a nice guy who I feel really wants to help. I was thinking of moving surgery but will certainly be staying out now.

Shame have to give one star. Have been calling since this morning from 8am. Press option 1 someone answers then hangs up on 6 occasions. Then I get through and there is no more appointments. The next available appointment in next Tuesday. Has never been this bad

Went to doctors this morning tryed to get appointment for today at some point asked at the desk she just looked at me and pulled a face and shock head not a word came out her mouth so rude what happened to the good old family doctors

I miss the days Dr Gull ran the surgery. The days you could actually get through on the phone and see a doctor.I'm at wits end and in serious pain with infection spreading.Told to call back although spent over an hour on phone.Doctors have no appointments and not even offered next day, all of which could of been a simple message on the phone.I've not seen a doctor since lockdown because it's so hard to get in this surgery!The phone system is ridiculous and I've spent too many days in A&E because of not being able to see a doctor here.Time to find another surgery I think.

I've been at this Dr's for 5 years and it's got worse every single year!The phoning and queing system is absolutely awful!On one occasion I phoned at 8am for my child, I rang over 200 times! Got through and waiting on hold for an hour to get from position 11 to position 1 and it cut out! I was beyond fuming! I rang again, took a further 123 times to get into the queue, by this time it was nearly 11am, after I waited forever to get through again, I was told there was no appointments and even after I explained it was for a child, under the age of 4, I was told to ring back tomorrow, there was nothing she can do.My 3yr old has asthma and the Dr's wouldn't listen to me, gave her a cocktail of things to try, including antibiotics, when they see nothing helped(after doing everything I could to help before taking her in) they listened and gave her a pump, she ended up needing steriods and has a steriod inhaler also, she was very close to going to hospital for it, the Dr said if she wasn't so chirpy she would have sent her up there.It's roulette who you get on the phones, I usually get a very rude women who's short with me and makes me feel stupid for calling most times I manage to get through!My partner always gets the nice receptionist.I'd avoid!!!I'd leave and go somewhere else but no one is taking patients at the moment!

No longer a patient due to the serious problems I have encountered with a surgery I have attended for 25 years. This is not an NHS prob lem, this is a West Road problem. I have been refused life saving medication and equipment I am entitled to and have been spoken to in the most unprofessional manner. At my new surgery I have got through o the first attempt,I have been offered appointments within 24 hours.Sadly the days of Dr Gul and Zoe on reception are long gone. As a public sector worker I am aware of many financial and staffing restraints but this is no excuse for rudeness.
