Princess House
I’m not sure exactly which company runs Princess house now but when I lived there a few years ago it was let by Fit Property and they were really awful. It’s possible if it’s now run by a different company that the situation is better and my review is not applicable. The location of the property is good, it is close to the centre but is also quiet. There is a fair amount of space in the rooms and it is cheap. However the building itself has got quite a lot of issues and I’m not sure any of these will have been resolved.I would not recommend staying at Princess house, the prices are cheap but it’s worth paying extra to feel safe where you are staying, to get responses to emails and to be treated like a human being. There were homeless people sleeping in the basement of the house, the downstairs door had been broken in, the fire alarm once went off for over 12 hours and instead of an apology the response was to lock off the games room so no one could use it. I often got emails telling me that I had not paid rent when I had and in general it was clearly very incompetently run. Additionally, when I moved in the room was disgusting there were bags of rotting food in my room and it was clear there hadn't even been a hoover of my room. It was the same when my boyfriend moved into his room. When we moved out my boyfriend was charged a substantial amount of his deposit because there was dust under the bed and a water ring on the bookcase- but we know for a fact that the money they took would not have gone to any cleaning.
