Seems to be a theme here with no parking so side of the road it is then. Fairly easy to get to - its up a bit of a hill via a narrow walkway (some brambles to get past as well) signs of recent human visitors that dont seem to know how to clean up after themselves apparent inside but overall a decent example of its type with good views.

Very limited parking. Tight road. But, if you're a fan of history, stop in and see this 'castle'. Gorgeous view from up here.

Great piece of history! Definitely deserves a lot more attention and maintenance. Inside the castle a bit of a litter not collected and also the description plate missing.

Nowhere to park , hubby had to stay in the car and drive and reverse up and down the small road so I could go to view , nice place and history board .

Moyry Castle stands overlooking the Slí Mhídeach one of the great north roads of Gaelic Ireland. These were the roads where buachaillí (the Gaelic word for both drover and boy) drove the cattle away from their homesteads to find pasture in more remote areas. This was called bualtachas
