Lovely rural pub serving quality and reasonably priced food. Service was good but could have been a little friendlier. Desert the Honey Pot" was particularly good and gets my fullest recommendation."

We came here on the 27th of August 2023. The food here was fairly good but it could’ve been better. I ordered the trio roast and the meat was very tough and you didn’t get much meat at all despite paying £4 on top of the normal price for this meal. The vegetables were undercooked and the cauliflower cheese did not have any cheese in it at all. The staff were extremely friendly, but we waited an hour between our first course and main course which was not acceptable at all. The decor was not very Mediterranean at all, especially as it is now known as the Ego, Mediterranean restaurant. Also, there was not many Mediterranean dishes at all, and if you didn’t have the discount, it would’ve been on the pricey range for what you got. Would I go here again yes, but I will choose different food altogether. The restaurant itself is 100% wheelchair accessible. There is just a very small lip that you have to negotiate to get in to the restaurant, but I don’t think a wheelchair would have any problems with it. Again the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly.

An impromptu meal after a 7 mile walk with great friends. Called in hoping to have a table and although appearing to be booked they managed to find us a really nice table. Lovely decor with numerous open fires. The food was really lovely and we were well looked after by a really nice genuine lady called Emily. It has been a real pleasure to dine there today & we will return.

Had the early bird on a Saturday, food fab and they've down wonders with the decor. Only teeny gripe is we waited a while before having to promt for our drinks order to be taken but it was very busy. Keep up the good work - food and service was otherwise really nice.

If there's a great put-off it's a cold restaurant. Radiators not working, single glazed windows and a cold draft down a chimney. If only the fire had been lit. Shame, it could have been so much better. Plus the servings are rather small. I doubt we'll be back and certainly not until the summer.

We've been before and had a great meal here, but today was awful! Very disappointed.!Table of 3 for Saturday lunch. All ordered steak pie and chips. Circa 15 minutes later told only one pie available. 2 of us changed our order with no complaints. After a further 10 minutes, the manager reappeared at the table to say she'd been told there was no pie now. Again, we changed order without complaint. The manager offered free desserts. Very lengthy wait for food. We all ordered fish and chips. It had obviously been sitting in the kitchen. It was luke warm, the chips were a bit hard and pretty salty, and the pea puree was garden peas instead. We waited quite a while for plates to be cleared. There was no further offer of free desserts. We were there two hours for a main course and a coffee after.
