RAF Leeming Viewing Area
Great viewing point for resident and visiting aircraft. The viewing area is surrounded by a chain link fence the use of a small stepladder will give you clearer view, though if you have a powerful enough lens and stand close to the wire you can focus it out.At the moment resident Squadrons are 11Sqn QEAF - Hawk Mk167 and the Yorkshire/Northumbrian University Air Squadrons - Grob G-115 Tutor.☹️

Great viewing point around midway down the runway, not as close to the action as we'd like and there's a ~7ft fence around so bring your ladders and telephoto lens!

Nice afternoon watching some of the aircraft involved in the (closed to the public) Families day. Lots of people, but not too many, all friendly and all enjoying the afternoon.

It is a really good place to watch the planes fly around it is especially nice when you get the training exercises as you see planes from the RAF that you rarely see or planes from another country like the Swiss air force in the winter time the viewing area is a nice place to just chill out and watch the planes with their quick take offs

More likely to not see something as see something.Use Military Flight Radar app which will advise on which aircraft etc are airborne rather than turning up on spec.Use a long lens to get best shots (70-300mm or 350-800mm will get you in the cockpit)
