The Keeping Gallery

Beautiful, subversive and intriguing gallery of artwork and displays by illustrator Charles Keeping and artist Renate Keeping with some wonderful surprises in a private home. The Keepings’ daughter (and curator) Vicky has lots of interesting stories, and the workshop and tour by Pamela were also excellent - both of them are really lovely people. Thank you for sharing with us - a must-see!

I'd have given it 6 stars if possible. A hidden gem. It's hard to describe all the different parts. The home of Renate and Charles Keeping is open for private view, taken around by Vicky Keeping, their daughter, a huge mine of family anecdotes. A vast portfolio of Keeping's published Litho prints and pen and ink illustrations for authors like Rosemary Sutcliffe and Alfred Noyes, while Renate's embroideries tell aspects of her family life. All so SO interesting! Well worth contacting Vicky by email and booking visit.
