Yelvertoft Marina
Fabulous marina. We moved our boat there and were not disappointed. Has a lovely welcoming feel, staff & fellow moorers friendly & helpful. Never had any worries whilst we were unable to visit the boat due to restrictions as we knew staff were keeping an eye on her. We were sad to leave, did so due to a change in our circumstances, but looking forward to returning sometime on the future.

Went to the marina today to enquire about mooring for a cruiser boat ok 24 foot they cant make much money off me, said no more dogs allowed is discussing so i turned away walked away i would never use a site that's not dog friendly so i give it 1 star as dogs make people happy not like the staff at this marina.

My wife and I have been mooring our boat at Yelvertoft Marina for almost nine years, and have been living on board here for several months of each year, between spells of cruising. It's a lovely place to be. Quiet, picturesque, well maintained and with excellent facilities. We haven't seen better. It's a very friendly community, too.Office staff are friendly and helpful. We're very happy here, and expect to stay until our boating days are over.

We have been here for just over three years and find the Marina to be an idyllic situation and base to go cruising from. The staff are very friendly and helpful and always on hand to help with any problems or issues. The surroundings are beautiful, with all sorts of wildlife, including a large variety of wildfowl and birds. We always look forward to arriving back here from our various trips out and consider this marina to be one of the best on the system that we have stayed in. The peace & quiet is absolutely joyous.

Very secluded quiet and a well kept siteAll roads clearly marked and added security by a coded gate to enter. All jettys and walkways are very clean and easy to follow. Lovely and picturesque on the grand Union canal, on the outskirts of NorthamptonshireWill definitely want to visit the place again

Been here two years nearly nice and peaceful love it. Friendly and helpful staff, you can not cut grass when the ground is wet but you see come the summer!!! it will look entirely different. Also this is a WORKING farm so of course you get noise associated with farming which is really pleasant.

Been mooring my boat here for a number of years. Friendly community atmosphere. Shower and toilet block on site, laundry room and boaters lounge where you can chat, have a cuppa and do a jigsaw or read a book from the many available. Friendly manager and owners. Also made use of the slipway to black the boat.

We have just returned to Yelvertoft marina. Previously we were moored here for 2 years before leaving for winter moorings to be close to my poorly parents. And it’s great to be back! Neil, the manager, has made us feel very welcome and has been very accommodating of our erratic coming and goings. He lives on site and is always available to help out with any problems.Yelvertoft marina is a rural idyll. Wildlife abounds. As well as the usual swans, ducks, geese and moorhens, there are otters and water voles, huge fish, birds of prey and we regularly watch the resident barn owl hunt. Light pollution is minimal and I enjoy star gazing up the hill on clear nights.Set in farmland the marina is accessed via a newly Tarmaced drive bordered by grazing sheep and cows. Electricity is provided by a wind turbine and discreet reed beds service the facilities block. The environment is very natural and you don’t feel like you are living on a manicured golf course.A strict ‘dogs on leads’ policy applies to the marina basin, but a good sized field is provided for off lead fun & games.A coffee morning, games night, knit & natter and art & craft session are held in the social room where there is an extensive book swap and community jigsaw. There is a slipway and new paint shed but this accessed via a different entrance from the canal and is set apart from the moored boats. It is remote, quiet and very friendly here and I love it!

Yelvertoft Marina
We have stayed at marinas across the country and this is one of the best. So good in fact that we came back again. We moored at Yelvertoft under both the old management and the new and were equally happy with both. We have left the marina now but recently visited friends who still moor there. It all looked in good shape and people were as friendly as ever. I can't understand the few negative reviews that have appeared here. I guess people don't like change - even when it comes as a freshly tarmac'd drive and a new slipway where you can do your own work or pay to have it done for you. If we were looking to moor in this area again, we would choose Yelvertoft without a moment's hesitation for its lovely location, excellent facilities and superb social events. Please ignore the few negative comments and go and see it for yourself

Was there for 7 years and kept my head down. Never engage in internal politics at these places and you'll be fine. But to be honest the biggest mistake I ever made in 12 years on a boat, was sitting in a bloody marina for the most part....
