The Betsey Wynne is part of the Oakman Inns family (sharing the same menu). The food here came out fast, was fresh, good quality and the great service came with a smile. Lovely building, but sitting outside on a sunny evening was a joy! Would go again.

We love this restaurant especially in winter as eating with the cosy open fire and a glass of wine is always very festive. It gets busy so book ahead. We have tried various dishes and the choice is reasonable if you are vegetarian but not loads of choice as does cater to meat eaters in the main.

Got a table with the dogs, had turned up early, and seated straight away. Roast beef Sunday dinner. Beef was amazing. Staff were also amazing and got the dogs some water.

Went here on Sunday for a family meal, we arrived early to get a drink. Man behind bar was very patronising due to not being able to see variety of drinks on the shelf put us off instantly!! Sat at our table, waitress was lovely throughout but sadly finished her shift half way through. We waited for 45 minutes before our mains came out, roast potatoes tasted very much like frozen ones, not worth £19.50 that’s for sure. A family member had a burger, said was very bland & not worthy of the money spent. Waited a further 35 minutes for 4 desserts, not acceptable considering it wasn’t that busy anymore. Chocolate brownie, wasn’t a chocolate brownie it was a microwave chocolate pudding. Cookie dough was over cooked and had a burnt taste to it. Very cheeky to add service on to the bill- we was going to complain but what’s the point? Just to be patronised again? Wasn’t worth causing a scene. Wasn’t happy at all with this service and won’t be back or recommending.

We popped over for a drink and ended up having food. It is a slightly more expensive pub but couldn't fault the food we had. The squid was so thick but not chewy at all, mushroom bruschetta made a change, the Porchetta was lovely and on par with another Oakman Inns I've had it at and my burger was so nice and clearly good quality meat. Would recommend and will go back if we're after more of a treat meal out.
