Its a Scout camp site. The camping areas are nicely segregated, with woodland paths linking each clearing.Running water taps for each clearing and an ash pit for your fires.Superb camp fire circle with four rows of tiered benches. It looses a point for the toilet, which is best described as serviceable. The (only) men's shower was warm and wet - which is than I can say of some..

Really great place for Scouts lots of activities to do. There are indoor toilets but their cleanliness can vary.

My scout troop have enjoyed our stay at Pinsent. It makes a great base for exploring Winchester, Southampton and the surrounding area. Site team are very friendly and helpful and the on-site activities were well received by our scouts. We felt it was good value. The only draw back is a single shower unit and single adult loo (one per gender) on site. More showers and more adult loos would only add to the experience. All in all though, a good camp and we would visit Pinsent again.

Right, Pincent campsite is definitely not perfect, let's deal with the main problem, the toilet block. Since the old block with condemned a few years ago the temporary replacement is an improvement, basic and functional but definitely has its limitations. The good bits, it IS a wonderful traditional scout campsite, big enough for beavers and cubs to feel like it's a real adventure, small enough to feel like it's an easy place to manage as a leader. Scouts love the traditional feel with open fires etc. The firepits are great, the arrangement of the individual sites is logical and coherent. The landscaping allows for sites to feel personalised, with water taps close by. The whole woodland campsite feel is the major draw, if you want a great location for a 'back to basics' camp then it is wonderful. You do feel surrounded by nature, the smoke hugs the trees and its a great place for wide games too.I've been using the campsite since I was a cub in the mid 80's, it still has all its charm and feel of 'wild', yet it is clear to see that the wardens and volunteers who help run the place are dedicated to moving it forward for future scouting needs. Please sort the toilet block out, Hampshire District, Winchester District, whoever it is, please, please get your act together, the site and the volunteers deserve more.

Good little campsite, sites not far from car park, toilets in between and a good setup

Great site, basic amenities only one shower in the disabled toilet and single female/male leader toilets. It’s all about your activities and we had a great time. Local sainsburys near by if you run out of milk like we did :-)

Does the job. Took 40 students there and camped over night. Toilets are a bit basic with only one shower, however price is cheap, so can't complain

My son had a great time doing fun activities here, such as fire lighting, archery, soap carving, etc. Scouts, Cubs, and the like are great for life skills.
