TISKA Karate Reading

I have been with the Club for around 11 years and it has been a great experience for both me and my son. The club has a friendly atmosphere and I could not imagine training elsewhere.

Having sampled a number of martial arts schools over the years, I can honestly say TISKA is a cut above the norm. Sensei tailors his instruction and expectations to the individual. The environment is friendly and supportive and seems to bring out the best in students at all levels. I've been a student here for a number of years and have seen quiet children grow in confidence and unruly children grow into responsible young adults.Also worth adding that TISKA's response to the Coronavirus lockdown was exemplary, quickly switching to online classes so everyone could continue training safely.

I have been a member of TISKA Karate Reading for over 12 years. It is a very family-friendly club thanks to Sensei's patience, good humour and sense of fun. As part of an international association, it provides good opportunities for competition and training with others. Karate is a great sport for building strength, flexibility, balance, confidence and self-awareness - and for having a good shout! But above all I enjoy the classes and training with other people from our local community.

I've been doing Tiska Karate Reading with my son and we both enjoy the classes. Mr Mistry is an excellent professional, patient, enthusiastic and friendly. It has been great to my son to develop and gain discipline and respect. We go in this club as an extra class and we feel very welcome. I highly recommend to have a go and try.

My sons and first joined the Tiska Karate Woodley club in 2006, and always found it to be a well-run and friendly club. Mr Mistry has a fantastic rapport with all members, and is especially good at encouraging the younger members in their development, to the point that my eldest graded for black belt aged 12.I can whole-heartedly recommend the club for anyone seeking a martial art to promote fitness, discipline and self-defence.

This Martial Art Club and TISKA as an organisation is great. I and my two sons have been with TISKA and this club for more than 8 years now. The instructor is an expert in Shotokan style of Karate being part of the TISKA ethos, very knowledgeable and dedicated. He has brilliant ways to teach children even as little as 5-6 years old, creating an interest and appreciation for the art.Being very Technology aware himself, recently during lock-down - he has shifted to online Zoom-based classes, which are safe and very effective. Allows you to keep up with your Martial Arts training and the one thing which has enabled to keep sanity even during these difficult times. It is a great family bonding routine as well.I would highly recommend joining this - as i believe this gives you a sense of purpose and achievement, alongside fitness.
