I was interested in looking at opportunities to join the Army part time but wasn’t sure it was going to be for me as a previous review said that they wouldn’t interested because of my colour. Anyway, thought I’d give a go. Went in and spoke with a Sergeant who was great. Told me all I needed to know so started my basic training 2 months ago. Loving it. Really like the people there and have a good laugh as well as earning some extra money. I’d recommend it.

I had a terrible experience when coming here for a meeting with a senior member of the armed forces. He lied to me to ensure that I wouldn't enlist three years ago. Following an informal meeting with someone else at Wenlock Barracks. But it just goes to show what the armed forces is a club for whites by the whites. I wish I never bothered walking into the barracks. I came prepared with questions about enlisting and the roles I was interested in and he failed to answer a single question and provided me false answers. I have been completely turned off from ever enlisting in the armed forces. This is what the place means to me.
