Stirling Students' Union

On the 17th of March myself and some friends visited the Student Union at the University of Stirling, and what can I say? A fantastic time was had by all. The staff had gone the extra mile to make our St. Patrick's Day particularly special, with a selection of Irish songs playing as we dined, such as Westlife and the likes. They even had Irish themed green water! Curly fries were exquisite.We had enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to dine in the establishment once again the following evening. Well - a completely different and upsetting experience shall we say. Our experience was particularly damped by one fellow diner who made derogatory remarks about my friend (weight related) after she ordered a half portion of curly fries. Understandably, she was very upset and this had put her off ever frequenting this restaurant again. To have a complete stranger treat her in such a way is disgusting and not the sort of behaviour I expect staff at the eatery to condone.Only giving 1 star cause the pint of Tennents was nice.Regards.

The staff at the students union have been absolutely outstanding. Can't say the same for the rest of the university but the staff at the students union really care and go the extra mile to help students. 10/10

This note to the students union of universi ty of stirling is a letter about a misconduct and not only on my Doctorate degree submitted in June 1980!it took 37 years to prove to an ignorant tutor that replaced my initial tutor a systems engineer who quit university of stirling to join a better place in university of Wellington in New Zealand..the new supervisor a civil engineer didn't knew what means systems approach to examine a complex system of a national airline and specific it's maintenance dept.it took 5 years of research work on external basis while wor king as a production engineer with an experience at that time at 1975-1980 since 1963 while working and studying the same time in various shipyards and heavy industries..what I proved in my research at that time was under such practices and tactics the System of The Maintenance Dept of this National Airline and not only due to mal practices but neglect and loosing millions of dollars would not only fail but the Wider System(Government policies ,mal practices etc would also fail...)The end result unfortunately for my Country and the Airline inefficiency one woul influence the other..of course they were many other subsystems that helped" the whole economy policy to fail..no body at my work liked that Thesis they wanted especially management to hide the problem for obvious political and economic reasons..I applied to the department where I have carried the research and the answer was :it's too late many years passed since you submitted the Thesis..I answered them The Factor Time passed have justified my Doctorate!and I sent a copy to the Academic Senate as the one to the Department!AFTER eleven months they answered the same but with a lot of mistakes that the times I spent doing theverything Doctorate was 8 eight years!!!I was working in the Airline and the same time I was taken UNPAID leaves to come to Stirling 8 to 10 times each year for 5 years!!!!I answered to the Academic Senate that on bureauctatic terms on the time passed since I symbitted my Doctorate they are righthe but as academic teachers they are Wrong beca use TIME HAS JUSTIFIED MY RESEARCH..YES THE PLANET ROTATES MR COPERNICUS YOU WERE RIGHT..I AM NOT COPERNICUS I am a man that learned to fight with ETHICAL AND VALUES for both my professions as a Naval Architect(Sunderland University)and Production Engineer (Trinity College Dublin).THATS A BLACK PAGE TO THE UNIVERSITY OF STIRLING..Of course whatever their answer The Time which they canot ignore it whatever reasons buraucratic or no my RESEARCH IS MORE THAN A DOCTORATE since time validated the forecast of my research and secondly the second supervisor that took over was incompetent for such work and any body consulted upon my work within the Airline at that time WOULD NOT ADMIT that would be a production engineer to tell THE TRUTH on corruption mal practices etc etc etc. .."

The union bar and food place is good, but the union itself is pretty off.

Relaxing environment and was there for karaoke! Great time
