We had an absolutely fantastic weekend at Colehurst Lake. We stayed in the Moorhens Nest. The shepherds hut itself is super cosy, we slept like logs! And the addition of living space was great, had everything we needed. The hot tub was fantastic, super easy to heat and stayed warm for hours. Great spot for watching wildlife as well, spot of fishing too if you fancy it! Colehurst is really close to Market Drayton, and only a 20 minute drive to Whitchurch. Loads of things to do in the area, we only stayed for 2 nights but would recommend longer to make the most of it!

As returning 'customers' we are always welcomed and nothing is too much trouble for the family owners. The personal touch is clear as all pitches allow for space and privacy, well equipped, with quirky features but there is very much a 'community' as friends are made around the fishing pool! A beautiful and charming setting - the hubby is back in a month for 'serious' fishing with his buddies, we will be back as a family - keep up the great work Nick and Holly! See you soon x

Stayed the night in the tent provided. What a beautiful tranquil place! It's all been set up really well and for just £10 a days fishing you can't complain....Holly and Nick were so welcoming. If you are camping, a kitchenette is provided for cooking including all the utensils , so you don't have to bring much. Plenty of logs provided for the fire and a clean and tidy compost loo. Never felt uncomfortable to ask the hosts for anything. Look forward to visiting again.

Place is stunning! Hosts are absolutely amazing!Perfect place to go to when you need a break and spend some time closer to the nature, sleep in the tent :) under the stars. Children’s area is just right for the little ones. And the lake… wait for the sunset!! Highly recommend <3

Our second time staying here but this time we stayed in a pre erected tent (woodland retreat). Its just such a beautiful place and so peaceful. Our woodland retreat had EVERYTHING you could possibly need for a camping trip which saved us packing the car to the rafters! Complete with gas camping stove and bbq! Breakfast bundle on your first morning and logs for the campfire/Woodburner.Beautifully kept and spotlessly clean shower shack and toilet. The owners Nick and Holly are so friendly and really helpful.Definitely the place to go to chill out and enjoy nature, we woke to geese and their babies every morning on the lake bank. Cant wait to return and see other projects that have been started, highly recommended.

A Must Visit Campsite & Fishing Site. Our Family visited last year as a Big Group and was so impressed we just had to book again. We have just camped for 3 nights over this August Bank Holiday as a Big Group and yet again had such an amazing time. This time we had 2 other Couples come along with us and both Couples was so impressed with the High Standard of the Site and Hospitality they received whilst there they have already said they will return and already telling their Friends. The Hospitality you receive from Holly & Nick is fantastic they really do make you feel so welcome and are always checking if everything is ok. All visitors on the site are so friendly always greeting as you walk past other families. Everyone is so respectful of each other which makes this Sites such a special relaxing place to visit. The Site is such a Family Friendly Place, extremely polite friendly staff and owners, very fairly priced and such a quiet peaceful Site where you can just unwind and relax. Hence why we will certainly be back again next year. The Owners I can confirm are completely Sane , down to earth people who are always happy to give you their time. The Site was so different from last year. The site has grown bigger in terms of having even more facilities to use such as toilets, showers, kids playing area all secure and safe for the kids to enjoy.I'm sure next year it will have changed even more with all the amazing projects they have lined up for the Site.I want to say a Massive Thank-You on behalf of Myself and all my Family and to say you had nothing to apologise for and it did not spoil our stay at all as you dealt with it in a professional manner when having to deal with 1 UNRULY Group of Guests that caused yourself, your staff and us nothing but hassle from minute 1 when arriving.I also want to point out that you handled the situation incredibly and professionally.I also want to say a Massive Thank You to Holly & Nick who went out their way to help assist Me in laying on a Big Surprise for my Wife and all the other Women and Girls in our group.Once again Thank You Holly & Nick and Children you are such a lovely Family and also your Staff.See You Next Year.

Enjoyed two lovely nights in the Moorhens Nest at Colehurst Lake. Owners Nick and Holly were very accommodating, even suggesting a local smokehouse eatery within walking distance of our accommodation. The accommodation had all you needed for a comfortable stay and the hot tub was delightful, Nick did mention to start the burner up and stir the water, as it heats the top but can still be cool near the bottom, he also said it can take around an hour and half to heat through. Everything was clean, tidy and fresh ready to use and as we stayed for 2 nights we had breakfast items included ( bacon, eggs, baps, bread and tea bags). The lake appeared to be teaming with fish as we had sat and seen plenty of fish jump up out of the water. We were told aswell about a beaver swimming across the lake, unfortunately we missed it. All in all a very lovely break, with beautiful surroundings and comfy accommodation and lovely owners, definitely will be back soon.
