Disaster! Bus was overbooked and we ended up on a school bus to Perth with very narrow seats and no toilet - add roadworks delays, and it is the most uncomfortable trip I have ever made. We arrived 3hrs late.

I’m absolutely disgusted by the treatment my partner received while taking a bus from Inverness to Nairn at 23:15 (last bus available) last night my partner phoned me to tell me he would be home shortly as he was getting on the bus, not even 15 minutes later did I receive a phone call from him explaining that he was kicked off the bus for no reason whatsoever, he then went on to tell me that 2 young men in front of him were causing a hassle and the bus driver pulled over to remove them off the bus but also proceeded to grab my partner and his bag (breaking it) off the bus, my partner had worked a long shift and was on his way home, he was then stranded in inverness with no other way to get home, my partner is coloured and I have no other reason to why he was treated this way, as the other passengers weren’t made to leave just my partner and the 2 young men who were causing a hassle, im appalled by the treatment and blatant ignorance of the stage coach driver.

They've not really pushed the boat out to offer clear info on buses... eg no obvious info on Airport bus... Although to be fair there was a helpful but very quietly spoken person at the info desk... Not that someone on a wheelchair would find getting in very easy!! and desk stupidly high... Could do better on accessibility and info.

We were on holiday in Avamore and decided to go to Inverness on the Bus,we have a small well behaved jack Russell, going to Inverness on the bus was no problem coming back was an issue ,driver would not let us on he said you need to have dog in grate ,further on in the queue was a much bigger dog and more aggressive barking etc we watched with interest ,after a discussion the dog was allowed on ,when I enquired why was that I was informed they were told it was a guide dog which it clearly was not,I asked an Inspector about this and was told try again and hid the dog in your bag,we declined we are not putting ourselves through that.

Nice place to change buses.Cafe inside the ticket office with a great choice of snacks and or meals.Customer toilet in same building as ticket office, tour ticket office and cafe.Lovely old library building at the terminal, plus newsagent / small store and second cafe outside of the ticket office.Other shops just 2mins walk while waiting for your bus to arrive.

Long journey to Wick from Inverness, but the scenery was fantastic. Not as tedious as the train and not as long. Would do it again.

Very comfortable journey, pity we had to wait 2hrs for a replacement bus ,we should have been in Edinburgh at 3,15, not 8,15pm.

The bus station is severed by Stagecoach and Citylink, and possible some other companies too less frequently. It's easy to find your way around having several separate stands (although check carefully which one you need as the information on Google was not up to date when I checked). The best way to confirm is to look at the pieces of paper inside each small shelter. If you're waiting for a bus in winter, wear a coat, and then wear another on top, because being outdoors mean the stands can get very cold.
