The Old Forge Surgery (Haxby Group)

Just appalling in every way. Made an appointment weeks ago for my baby twins which I was told was an AM appointment today. Waited all morning and couldn’t put my twins down for their nap as I had no idea what time I would get this call. 12.35 rang the surgery to be told they are not sure and would call me back. Get a call back from a rude receptionist to inform me the gp would ring NEXT WEEK. Frankly no they won’t this is not acceptable after requesting this appointment weeks ago. Only been with this surgery a couple of months and the amount of mistakes made is completely unacceptable. Clearly some training is needed in basic appointment making and how to communicate with people. I think PALS need to be made aware of errors here.

This is the best doctors surgery in york. All the Drs are brilliant!!!. I have to say a special thank you to Dr Jo Simpson who treats me with such kindness and dedication. I have only seen 3 drs there,Dr Claire Anderton and Dr French who are very good also.The receptionists Elizabeth,Andrea and Jackie are very caring too. Thank you all.

Rarely answer phones, direct you to online queries and then you never hear back from them. A couple of nice doctors but rest follow a script and if it doesn’t conform, it’s the end of the road.

Having to Change my review, my family having a terrible experience, partner went for bloods to be taken but not specified what bloods to test for by GP so wasted appointment, now unable to get another date to even get the bloods taken, Daughter has waited weeks for a GP Call, Finally Come to the day/time and waited 2 hours in the room we can get signal in, no call, no follow up call.

Pass you across to the website and then never answer you.*Your response is simply not true. It was two online messages (one urgent) and nearly 90mins on hold in two separate calls all over the course of 5 days before I got an appointment.

Over the years I have had a number of interactions for both myself and my boys. Professional, polite whilst under pressure and doing their upmost to help. Keep up the good work.

Great local surgery if you like waiting (optimistically) eight weeks to take a thirty minute bus to an appointment at a different “haxby group” GP surgery somewhere else in York. They no longer give appointments, you just go on an open-ended waiting list for an appointment. They have a website which would really help those of us who find it easier to book things outside work hours but unlike every other website in the universe, they turn the website off when they are closed, meaning it’s essentially useless. If you’re in the middle of filling out the extensive online form when they turn the website off, tough luck, you’re not getting that time back.

My husband had a blood test for his diabetes on 5th November. Rang to get result as can not get them online. He could not get past the receptionist who just told him result was normal no further action. He has not been told what the reading was or if his medication dose should change. He has phoned again today, the re eptio ist this time said someone would phone him next week. If no-one rings back I guess it will be another long wait on the phone just to speak with the receptionist. After receiving a reply regarding this review to get in touch with the surgery . I phoned the telephone number the replier supplied.Guest what the automated service advised me I was 6th in line to be answered. I was phoning out of curtesy to advise someone had since called my husband and the issue has finally been resolved. I do not plan to phone again dont have time to hang on the phone for that length of time when I don't need to

my dad is severely breathless has called this surgery and struggled to walk down there to actually talk to someone he's had covid twice now normally fit and well but clearly not ok to be told 8 weeks for an appointment. he called 111 this morning who contacted his doctors to call him to now not been seen until 31st March in acomb. I'm absolutely livid if he takes a turn for the qorse or ends up in hospital because of their negligence I will be coming for them. clearly his lungs are full of liquid and isn't going to go away. absolutely disgusting service
