The Massage Company

I’ve had issues with my back and shoulders for a number of years. The Massage Company was recommended to me and I’m glad it was.The staff are all very friendly. The massage therapist I have (Jess) is exceptional. She constantly asks if the pressure is OK and works on the areas I have asked her to.I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

Having a massage every month for the last few years i thought I'd give The massage company a go so i went ahead and booked an 80 massage!! Firstly Jess politely asked if i wanted to add the foot experience onto my massage at a cost of £9.95 which i thought was reasonable but i didn't realise that the ten minutes of time was taken of my original time...So i basically paid £10 more for 10 minutes less.2) After a brief chat with Jess i had mentioned that quite a few years ago i had piriformos syndrome which was treated by a chiropractor and has been fine since but she wrote up the area's of concern at the end and guess what she said my hip flexor around the piriformos area was incredibly tight as well as a long list of other tightness in other areas, i gasped as i have a massage every couple of weeks i also do yoga and cardio classes every week and my body actually feels flexible and fine so i came away with the idea that many new clients come away with these long lists of problem areas in the hope that you join up to the scheme!3) Finally i was asked what pressure i would like so i said between medium and firm not once did i mention to Jess the word's Deep Tissue Massage but that's what i got and it was incredibly painful, i mentioned to Jess a couple of times throughout the massage to ease the pressure but it didn't change unfortunately. I have experienced light bruising and muscle pain for a few days after. Now i consider myself a little knowledgeable about massage and what makes a good massage and i certainly didn't come away from that place feeling anything other than sore and bruised. No i won't be booking a further appointment.

Always an exquisite experience! Alex is incredible, puts me at ease, chatty whilst relaxed and always conscious of my comfort and ensuring I know where she thinks I need work for our next appointment. Huge recommend to everyone I know!

It was my first time here and it was amazing. I come there in vacation and I try with my family. We went there and people in the reception were lovely. They always ask if all was okay and it was a pleasure to feel good. For me, I have done with Rhiana. She was a lovely woman. She was always saying if I feel well and if the pressure, when she was massaged me, was good. By the way, she was nice and really professional at the same time. I recommend her for sure if you want to do a massage she does perfectly. This was my first experience for a massage, it is 100% worth it! I feel like a new personand I don’t feel any aches and pains, I can honestly say it works! I couldn't thank everyone enough for the experience I had today and I will be returning for another !

Been coming to the massage company for last 3 months. Experiencing a deep tissue massage has really helped with the muscle tightness I get from heavy work in my job, and regular visits to the gym. After explaining my aches, Jess suggested I went for deep tissue and asked what pressure I would prefer. I asked for medium and she added more pressure whenever i asked into the massage. She gave me good advice for any stretches to do in-between visits. Overall a good experience which has helped me alot.

My monthly massage is not only my treat! It is an essential part of my routine to keep flexible, active and pain free. I especially like focusing on different areas needing attention.

I have been going for a while now and have to share that Alex is amazing. My husband even signed up after trying a massage with her. She has super strength not only can Alex give great deep tissue or sports massages, but I wanted a relaxed massage and she tailored it perfectly whilst managing to soothe my knots. Thank you to Alex and as always, I look forward to the upcoming massages I have pre-booked! :-)

The best massage ever!The experience from start to finish was faultless. The lady on the front was so accommodating and ensured I was aware of the process before getting started, every member of staff I spoke to was so welcoming!I had Daniel today who was amazing. He made sure to tell me everything about what he was doing and showed how knowledgeable he was in his profession.He constantly checked in on me during the massage with regards to pressure and key areas to focus on.He was very professional during the entirety of the experience and was very informative during the debrief at the end of the massage with suggesting ideas that may help relief tension until the next session.This was my first experience for a massage and honestly I couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone, 100% worth it! I feel like a new person and having suffered with aches and pains for a while now I can honestly say it works!I couldn’t thank everyone enough for the experience I had today and I will 100% be returning for another!

Appointment was cancelled last week on the day a few hours before. Re-arranged for a week later, specifically noted I have siactica during pregnancy and it wasn’t noted or taken into account, massage started at 9.10am and finished at 9.50am so 40 minutes when it should have been 50 minutes. I did tell the receptionist on duty I was disappointed and that the full 50 minutes I was not worked on. None of the areas I wanted relief from were worked on, it seemed like she was more on the cautious side however when I rang up they told me on the phone the therapist can specifically target areas of siactica. I did ask the therapist and also filled out on the form medium pressure however she kept it very light, essentially rubbing oil in, no tension released. Legs were not massaged at all just feet. Overall really disappointed based on the price point

Would avoid at all costs!! I wish someone warned me sooner!Staff will pressure you into purchasing a plan as soon as your first massage is complete. The pressure selling is really offputting. The massages are really variable depending on who does it. My main gripe is with the management - on ending my plan, they charged for for an extra month because I was beyond the date in the month where they can cancel immediately. I was told there was no time limit for using this last massage. Cancelled because was dissatisfied with the service and was moving away. Staff were aware of this. When tried to book when I was next in Birmingham 10 months later (as aforementioned, no longer live locally but have family nearby), was told I can't book this anymore as they've got a policy this needs to be used within 6 months. Explained noone had mentioned this to me and I'm quite disappointed otherwise I would have made an effort to use this up before I left. They kept repeating they couldn't help. Sent emails that were never answered. Called up again and spoke to Sunny the manager who again tried to explain he couldn't do anything and they'd be keeping my money. He said he would call me back after looking into any options of trying to see if he could book me. Evidently had no intention to but gave him the benefit of the doubt. Yep, still no reply months later. Felt the need to post this as am now local again and still hearing the odd person in my circle who has visited here and had an awful experience very similar to mine. Hoped the management would have improved in these few months I haven't contacted them... not surprised things are exactly the same.
