Been many, many many times food has always been, lovely but today 6 of our family had a carvery and to bebrutally honest it was awful worst ever. Meat was cold, mash potato dry and cold and the roast potatoes were rock hard couldn't eat them we normally swear by the food here but not today it was terrible. Did point it out to young lady who collected plates etc and she just said oh that was it.

We love this pub and have been going there for years but the past 2 times of visiting with friends the carvery food has been shocking. There was no choice of meats and the veg is totally drying up not fresh at all. We book a table at 7.30pm everytime too so they know we are coming in for food. I will be looking for somewhere else from now on.

First and last time we will eat here. Appalling service by disinterested staff. It took well over 10 minutes to get a drink despite there being about 3 staff members behind the bar and about 5 customers. My wife had to go back the bar because no one brought her coffee over despite being told they would. We were told it was mega busy but there were less than 50 people in the entire building. They forgot the children’s dessert and had to go up twice to ask about it. If you go just have the carvery as the burgers for the children were awful. If you have low standards this is the place for you.

Red meats were fairly dry and stale. One of the desserts was seemingly not accurately as described. A couple of the veg options (cheesy leek? & Other medley) seemed dry and weirdly crunchy. You are told by management to approach for reviews and you chose to approach my technophobe mom about this. Mainly a critique for your management there.Beer was fine. Ability to pre book was nice although couldn't put for over 8 which had us in a borderline pickle. No option offered to not be up the stairs isn't great for accessibly challenged.I've had worse but no low bar huge credit. I give 6/10 on balance I think. Even if lower on the general recommendation. Stuff is stale a theme because not busy although being bit busy makes it actually available for this booking. So my expectation management is hardly challenged here. Staff generally did a fine job. Their many efforts appreciated.

Came here for a one off meal with the kids before the firework display over at the park. Arriving, no one was around to book us in for our booking. Walked up to the bar to be seated which was pretty quick.Ordered our food and as we was ordering our food we was smacked right in the face with an almighty stench of body odour. This was very pungent and took my breath as it was almost like it was dated.I ordered separate food to come out to our table to go with the carvery, and this didn’t arrive. Everyone had eaten, and kids food that was ordered from the menu had been eaten too. When querying this we kept getting told that the items weren’t ordered. Spoken to the original member of staff who served me and she refunded this back to me.While sitting at the table, the same stench of body odour which again was breathtaking came from a member of your team. This was absolutely off putting to the point of gagging from it.Your member of staff who has this body odour issue is a female with glasses. I won’t say anymore on here as I am more than sure you know which member of staff it is. But health and hygiene is a must within the food industry. And the lack of hygiene makes me wonder whether hygiene standards would be slipped within your pub from this member of staff. I do appreciate people sweat, but this is beyond fresh sweating. This is stagnant.

Visited the White Swan again for Sunday lunch. As with my last visit the service was superb and the food excellent all served in a vibrant friendly atmosphere. Special mention to Kate who was excellent and so helpful nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend and will be coming back
