First of all we went due to the amount of people we know saying it was wonderful food and atmosphere, re the whole of the area, absolutely beautiful, relaxing and really quaint. However the food didn't taste as my wife expected it to, based on the hype, my wife had the beef and it was a bit bland, the veg and everything else spot on, she has had better at other places, I had the scampi, but in all honesty scampi is scampi and I did enjoy it so can't say it wasn't right, it was. Maybe it was a dodgy day for the chef, and truthfully, we will go back but more for the ambience and atmosphere. Try it by all means. I'm not asking for people not to go, after all 90% of the tables are reserved so maybe my wife and I have lost a bit of our tastebuds. Go and enjoy, I'd still recommend it.

After reading trip advisor was reluctant to meet this grouchy little man that was talked about... and dreadful gardens... reality... 1st impressions of outside WOW what a gorgeous well kept immaculately clean place.. gardens totally stunning and the best gardens I've ever seen in a pub... walking inside I immediately spotted the grouch from description... reality he was busy but very welcoming and came across as a busy guy but more than happy to help... inside was a pleasant surprise.. very spacious and plenty of seating, clean and quirky... now the best part food... I ordered the special which was half a roast chicken with a thick full size of bacon on top and homemade stuffing served with all fresh veg and chips and gravy oh and cranberry sauce... food quality was excellent my husband had steak burger which was a huge tower... kids meals offer plenty of choice.. desserts were amazingly good too... quantity was plentiful, price... in my opinion for what u get.. it's too cheap.. but I'm happy with that. Sometimes cheap doesn't mean rubbish.... especially not in this case. We have recently been back for Sunday lunch and again impressed with food service and cleanliness... now one of our favourites, and we are more than happy to travel to go there.

This was the second time we stayed in the village, just a few yards from the pub. Really friendly place, great service and delicious food. Can get a bit busy on weekends so best to book ahead. Over a few days we had lunch, evening meals and a couple of cheeky pints. Recommended and will visit again.

A lovely pub this. We had a great lunch; tasty food and plenty of it too. Sue the Host and her staff were kind, efficient and pleasant. They also have a beautiful garden where you can sit and eat.Very happy with our experience.Well done Eagle and Child!

Visited here recently and it's a lovely pub. The gardens are very well kept and the food is really nice if not a bit expensive. It is nice though. You get loads of beef/chicken on the Sunday dinner.

Went with our WI Supper club, staff couldn't have been more helpful and were very well organised giving us our own area of the pub, good menu and everyone enjoyed their meal very well organised for people paying their bills individually, large car park. Will return with family and also to the beautiful gardens

I love this pub. Set in the middle of nowhere and a proper good old local pub. Me and my family have been going to the Eagle and Child for years and have never had a bad meal. Prices are very reasonable, quality is absolutely spot on and I highly recommend the Mega Eagle burger

Have visited once before, went up for Xmas Sunday lunch... one word fabulous! I had the traditional turkey, my partner lamb plus all the trimmings, and a cracker each to boot! Delicious and substantial, we then had a break before both having starters for afters, yes indeed! Garlic bread with mozzarella cheese and cranberry, Duck/Pork pate' with toast, gorgeous... Wine, beer, coffee and cream, with a crackling log burner round the corner, twinkling festive decor, along with the usual eclectic surroundings, a definite treat, would highly recommend... Cheers!

Traditional welsh pub food, hearty, large portions and plenty of options, including a specials menu. Very impressive! Price point was great, our teenagers eat off the main menu but the kids menu looked fab! Plenty of tables- we had booked and I would advise to call ahead and book as they had a lot of reserved tables. Garden is lovely and separate pub area at the front. You can wear walking boots, or heels so that keeps everyone happy! Will be retuning. My steak was very tasty, I couldn’t finish, it was so big which was lovely to see! I often find portions getting smaller these days. Steak and Guineas pie was also lovely and the burgers! Too full for pudding but we will save space next time.
