All was great until my daughter was moved to the anti natal ward. We drove 4 hours to see her and her little brother was allowed to see her in the birth centre for a few minutes (staff were lovely). Once on the postnatal ward though, the staff were unhelpful and uncaring and said her brother was not allowed to see her. This meant I spent visiting time in a car park with him so my husband could go in, as you can’t even swap visitors during the visiting session so I couldn’t see her or the baby. Then we had to drive back 4 hours home. My daughter wasn’t well and this added so much stress.I should explain that her brother is Autistic and so could not understand why he was not allowed to see his sister. He is no more an infection risk than anyone else on the ward. This should have been a happy day but instead I have a little boy who thinks he has done something wrong.

The woman who does the growth scans with blonde hair is a narcissistic abuser, she does not check facts and records before she starts speeking down to people telling them they are putting there baby’s life at risk by refusing more growth scans. Absolute nonsense , Firstly my baby was growing perfectly fine and was the right size nothing wrong with his growth at all, ready to be born and weighed at least 6 and half pounds and as I was due in 4 days I refused to go back for YET another growth scan. Then Talking over me then gaslighting me about how I don’t want to come back because of the long waiting time. Absolute nonsense the first growth scan I came to she had her colleague pressing down WAAAY too hard on my stomach and had me lifting up my apparently huge belly the whole way thru. Led to me passing out and vomiting in the toilet after. Then calls me with a terrible attitude as if I’m some kind of a bad inexperienced parent. (At 38 years old) get a grip woman and learn how to speek to your patients with care and respect instead of being an arrogant little narcissist trying to have the last word

Our son was transferred to this level 3 NICU and we cannot say enough about how lovely the nurses and doctors were here. They made sure to keep us updated continually, were loving and gentle with our baby, and made sure to try and make us feel comfortable during a very stressful time. We were given a private room so we could stay close to our baby without having to travel the hours journey everyday. By the end of the week, everyone from the nurses to the cleaners, to the doctors and the food providers knew us and asked how our baby was doing and came to just say hello and have a chat. You could trust the staff that they would take care of your baby and that’s all you can ask for. We had extraordinary care and were able to bring our little one home a week later. Thank you to the staff for their care and attention!

We recently had our daughter here and a 2 night stay on the Post Natal ward followed. The care my wife and daughter received was excellent. The midwives were really caring, as was the infant feeding support that we had - we suspect she stayed on slightly after her shift ended to help us. I'd like to say a special thanks to the Maternity Support Workers who were so kind, even taking her for a walk down the ward so that my wife could sleep. All of these people should be paid more, and we should all support them in that because we couldn't do anywhere near as well without them. They do more than just the basics and it is appreciated.

Fantastic Care provided to my daughter and son in-law before, during and after birth of their first child. The staff were all caring and compassionate towards them at their most vulnerable time, putting them at ease. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so very much.

I went into severe depression because of the way i was treated by the midvwives here. Was sent home despite me telling them i felt my waters had broken and then when i came back the second time over 24 hours later and in active labour i was told i seem calm and maybe should go home again. Luckily another midwife decided to let me stay and when they checked they found that my waters did break. They also called a surgeon who checked me and told me they need to do a c- section on me telling me that was the only option if the baby isnt delivered within an hour naturally. Again, luckily another midwife came on shift and checked and found the reason for the delay was because my front waters had not broken yet (only my back waters had broke) and once she broke that they baby was delivered naturally.Just think.. if that midwife didnt come i would have had an unnecessary C section.. also none of what i wanted for my birth was listened to. The midwife just did what she wanted because it was her last day so clearly didnt give one. After i gave birth within a couple of hoirs another midwife was forcing me out of the birthing suite despite me telling her i couldnt feel my legs from the epidural. She didnt believe me and tried to make me stand up (at first she wrapped the baby and gave him in my arms and told me to stand and i gave the baby to my mum because it was unsafe for me to carry him and try to stand) when i kept telling her she forcefully grabbed me by the arm to make me stand and after a few seconds i fell because my legs gave away. She then left nd came back after an hour and put my in a wheelchair and took me to the maternity ward. In the mat ward my baby was crying and i couldnt walk to him because of my legs and i called for a midwife who just came and said i think he wants a cuddle.. just do that" and walked off.. i was given medication like ibuprofen and iron more often than i should have taken im sure of that as they seemed so close together (like 2 hours ) i spent all night crying there and just went into severe depression with my experience going through my head again and again. The health visitor said i could complain but all i will get back is an apology. So whats the point? I still emailed them though and i didnt get a reply back either and it has been a year. I want another baby so bad but when i think of the experience i get put off thats how traumatised i am. I cant even fot the whole experience here but so much happened."
