GAIL’s Clifton Road

I went in this morning to sit in for baked eggs and was completely ignored by the staff. Five staff behind counter looking furiously busy (I was at front of queue) and left waiting and waiting and waiting and no acknowledgement not even eye contact with me as I waited. I left as I just did not matter to the staff. I am so disappointed. It is not the first time I've had this either. The Paddington shop ignored a friend and myself some weeks ago. The staff just ignored me today. It was a weird and uncomfortable experience. I just wanted a bit of breakfast and a warm welcome. It's not normal to ignore people like that and it's certainly poor service. Are you training the staff to do that because how five people can operate like I didn't exist beggar's belief. Please sort the basic courteous service out.

Paper bags appear to be covered in toxic PFAS, the bread full of glyphosate (functionally tested and it's making me sick), their takeaway cups (with no option for china alternatives to eat in) full of plastic/microplastics, and their hot chocolate full of heavy metals. The food here is really not cheap, but under all the fancy branding, the quality is pretty appaling.

A lot of choices in terms of snacks! All looking extremely tasty. 100% freshly made.Coffee was nice too.Kind staff.Large space to sit down too.

I love food from Gails but this one isn't practical at all if you have baby in buggy or a wheelchair... stairs only no lift and no WC on the ground floor... so be aware of that !! Such of disappointment for a new place like that...

Pleasant, light-filled cafe. Really good coffee. Big variety of interesting cakes and filled rolls. The cheese and chive scones are the best I've ever tasted

Nice mild cappuccino. As said my friend, the best one coffee ever!We didn’t try pastry, but it looked so delicious.Cozy atmosphere as always in Gail’s. Clean toilets downstairs. What do we need more?Keep it up, Gail’s.

Lovely addition to the area. Visited yesterday and loved the calm and serene atmosphere. I was also very impressed with the coffee, the barista’s skills and the care she put into the process. The coffee is one element that is sometimes not that consistent across various Gail’s and it was great to see a new place start with proper coffee.
