Definitely not worth paying the money, these were the riblets that were grey. The chips were cold and hard, burger was not worth the £15 for a special chicken burger. Better off saving the money and going to the McDonald's over the road

We always go out for a family meal on the run up to Christmas and unfortunately, we are often disappointed. Obviously just before Christmas everywhere is very busy and providing different menus from normal so, over the years we have come to expect a few issues. This year we decided to try the Alders for the first time. Wow, how pleased we are with that decision. The food was absolutely delicious, there was great choice and it was reasonably priced. On top of that the service was excellent, friendly and helpful. The chap that appeared to be the manager was particularly helpful, friendly and efficient. (The staff even had to help out with a medical emergency while we were there but they even dealt with that efficiently, and everything else continued smoothly!) An all round excellent experience, thank you very much.

I came with friends to celebrate my birthday. We had the festive Fayre menu and I can honestly say it was the best carvery I've had at The Alders. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff were super polite and helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our visit was enjoyed. The chef even gave me some turkey skin for my dog.We all really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere was lovely and festive.

Had a Sunday Carvery here. Extremely pleasant staff and was very busy, definitely need to book your table. Food was good and well cooked, was almost a 5* but for small meat portions. Probably adequate for most people but I like my meat.

There are limited disabled parking spaces at the front of the pub. Wheelchair and buggy access is easy as the entrance is suitable for wheelchair access. There is a carvery available daily and a menu to choose from. A cake away is available. Small indoor play area for young children. The staff are friendly and welcoming. It's best to book a table as they do get very busy, particularly at weekends.

We were pointed to our table and not told that there was no fish until we went to order so had to go back and choose again. No board with soup of the day on it so had to go back to the bar to ask that. The food was served on cold plates (except for the carvery) which rendered it like warm, out of order in my opinion. We ordered a dessert (which was delightful) but then told it would be another £1.95 for a drop of cream on it!Plus side, the food for 8 of us all came together and the staff were pleasant and knowledgeable but it seemed that all they were doing was apologising for things that weren’t included or out of stock. We will be back but improvement’s need to be made, particularly the cold plates.

Top class from start to finish. Friendly greeting when we arrived as we were shown to our table by the gentleman in the front (not sure of his name but was dressed in a white shirt and wore spectacles). Next when taking our orders the shift manager Steven was incredibly pleasant and helpful in showing us how to redeem our online discount coupon. We ordered the carvery which was so delicious: tasty beef and gammon, fresh veg and soft, fluffy Yorkshire pudding straight out the oven. Chef Aaron was as funny and chipper as always. All in all 10/10 experience. Will definitely be back.

Robin Hood Disabled LOVE coming to the Alders and last night for our Christmas Party was no exception. Nothing is too much trouble for the team - we are always made to feel welcome and included. Feeding a party of 24, many with learning and physical disabilities, could be a challenge to some but not here. We all enjoyed a delicious meal, the staff were brilliant and even Santa was impressed when he joined us. Thanks for having us!

Took a large group of people with learning disabilities. Nothing was too much trouble. The gentleman serving the carvery was really cheery and fun. The gentleman serving drinks was so patient and reassuring, and even stood a drink when the person ordering didn't have enough money. 11/10 for customer service.
