Drivalia Car Hire Luton Airport

Horrible company. They charged us an extra £300 on a car hire that was fully paid for and fully insured for £200 because my partner didn't have a credit card but used a debit card instead. You can't see this in any of the terms when booking, it's only after. Very deceitful, we had been hiring cars on a 4 week holiday and were able to use the debit card fine. Very dodgy, avoid.

It is the best choice in my opinion. They offer quite new cars for reasonable price. Staff is very friendly and helpful especially in Slip End (Luton).

Nice late model car with low miles. Spoilt by being given an auto. Could not fault the car. Shuttle bus is a bit of an issue

Booked the vehicle at 10am, arrived at 9:45, then been told the other customer was arriving late so I will have to wait 30 minutes for him to return the vehicle.Waited till 10:30, then I’ve been told the other customer is extending his booking which means I will have to use another van.He brought another van out which 1 of the side mirror is damaged, engine light is on, petrol light is on which at that point I am not sure if it can make it to the nearest petrol station. Van is not clean and full of dirt inside. I have a job to do which I have no choice but to take it.The worst part is after I arrived to my first destination, I’ve noticed there is a bottle of yellow liquid behind my driver seat. It is absolutely disgusting and I don’t even want to touch the van nor did I want to tell my wife to create any unnecessary stress for her. I couldn’t imagine this can happen especially we are in this Covid situation. This is by far one of my worst experience in renting cars/ vans in my life.I am not too fuss about the condition of the vehicle, but if I am renting something, I will expect a fully working, clean vehicle at the very least.I have already contacted customer support and I have no reply for the past week.

Great car, practically new! It is always straight forward with Drivalia as long as you read the conditions you don't have any surprises (buying insurance or pay high hold deposit on credit card). Easy to get from and to the airport with the shuttle bus. Wasnt the first time I rent a car from them and surely not the last.

I had a terrific experience at the Travalia Luton office. I needed a car immediately due to my own error with a third-party booking agency. Mark at the desk assuaged all of my concerns and arranged a rental for me on the spot. The other individuals working at the office were complete gentleman and I truly appreciate their help.

Managed to get an incredible deal for a weekly rental and their opening hours are long, which really helped due to our flight times.Staff are friendly, no pressured sales tactics, reasonable on damage and vehicle checks. Fuel policy, deposit and so on clearly communicated on the website.I'd give it 5 stars but I was really annoyed that I came in to fill out all of the paperwork an hour before picking up the car to save time and then still had to do the same documents the second time around.

I booked through a third party website and used their insurance to give full cover. On arrival at the airport finding the right bus to get on was the first challenge. No signposts at the airport, after asking around we got on the right shuttle bus (it's the one for the airparks, bus bay R at time of writing) That took about 20 mins and then a 15 min bus ride to the rental place. The vehicle was cheap, £120 for 6 days. However, as we were not using Drivalia's insurance we had to pay a £1500 refundable deposit on a credit card ( they wouldn't accept a debit card ) or buy their fully comp insurance at £40 per day! No problems at drop off. Overall I would probably use them again as they are cheap, but pretty basic as a result.
