SMC Coach Hire

I have written a review but noticed they have two sites for same company but I need to share experience as I dont want anyone else to be let down! Goes like this .. I wish I could write a good review HOWEVER after you cancelled on me the day before my trip taking 16 people away was just ridiculous and highly unprofessional. You then sent an email to get me back with 10% off mmmm I'm sorry but all trust is lost! I've been running an event and travel company for 27 years and I have never come across a service like this! AVOID at all costs if you expect to be collected!

This company is an agency only but on reading their website it doesn't say anything about this. they hire a local company then cream off profit, go direct to your local coach firms. even look at their website and their images of coaches - guess what no company logos on the coaches

It was very easy to book and I received quotes back quite quickly. The driver was very friendly. Only downside is that it arrived a little bit late as the driver was confused about the pick-up location, even though I had provided it beforehand and there were no errors, so it was a bit annoying/stressful having to try to provide directions over the phone at the last minute while I am trying to organise my party of people and it is very easy to put the postcode into something like google maps and get directions.

Booked to hire a coach from this place a few months ago now, to take a wedding party of appox. 30 people from the ceremony, to a senic place for a photo shoot, then back to evening reception ( so looking for something a bit easy on the eye, not something shabby resembling a stage coach bus, lol ) After shopping around a little, both price & photo's of, brought us back here. Asked for a variety of quotes, from standard to executive coaches, as i wanted something that extra bit special ya know, which I received all of, via email ( lack of communication even just via telephone conversation is always off putting for me ) All the coach pictures I was sent, specified white coaches ( with different colours/ standards of interiors ) I asked several times via phone/ & email, right up until booking confirmation/ & payment in full, if I was going to receive exactly what was shown in the photographer's ( as to my daughter's delight the coaches being white, would match the wedding/ occasion ) I was told yes. I can't fault the communications leading up to the big day. But as you can imagine, all should be arranged in advance, & not high up the priorty list come the event. The coach that came on the day was a dull forest green ( not impressed/ but also not about to let it spoil thing's, I let it go ) As mother of the bride, organising the party fell to me, so assuring everyone was aboard, I sat at very front. Now weddings are one of them rare occasions that turn more into a family reunion, lol, & after Covid, something that was very much welcomed by all! The driver spoke none stop! Mostly complaining about traffic/ lights/ sat nav directions, as well as repeating himself over & over... even trying to ignore him & engage with my family on this momentus day, didn't spare him to stop, he went on & on! I was angered to say the least ( & that's putting it extremely politely!) by the time we arrived at our destination, The 25 minute trip was nothing short of mind numbing! I stayed back with the bride & groom longer than others, & returned with the photographer ( much to my delight, I didn't have to suffer the 25 minute ride back with him.

AVOID! Appalling service. 1 week before a trip away decided to cancel as the coach allocated had ‘broken down’ 3-4 weeks ago - why not tell us then! Left a group of 50 people with no alternative transport over a busy bank holiday weekend for a trip that was not refundable.

Minibus booked by World Challenge to transport 12 young adults and 3 Leaders from Liverpool to Heathrow- minibus had trailer that wasn’t big enough for all the backpacks so some had to go on the flooor of the minibus. If they had needed to evacuate the bus quickly they would have had no chance! More worrying though was the 16inch crack in the windscreen and the baldy tyres!! As parents we refused to let them go and they then had to wait 4 hours for a replacement bus and it was touch and go whether they would make their flight!! Disgraceful service!!

AVOID using this coach company. 2 days after full payment and 10 days before the booking they have cancelled due to a ‘broken down bus‘ no alternative sourced and any other quotes we’ve received are now double the original booking. Clearly unreliable and any bookings made are at risk of cancellation.

Great service from start to finish Big Nige our driver was top he was on time and put up with our singing and even joined in on one or two. The booking process was easy and the staff in the office very helpful indeed. Thanks

Do not use this company, left 21 people including 2 disabled people, one in a wheelchair, stranded at Aintree races on national day, refused to take our calls or answer text. Totally ruined the day. What a disaster. Stay clear.
