Greatbear Audio & Video Digitising

I organised the transfer of 50 plus U-matic recordings of TV programmes from the 1990’s with Adrian at Greatbear. The results have been fantastic, truly excellent and very pleasing. Adrian advised me to use the original U-matic masters rather than one inch copies, which I also have. Advice that I appreciated.When I was researching facilities Adrians manner and assistance was clearly streets ahead of anyone else and it was a pleasure to deal with him. I really think he is a craftsmen in his field, that he really cares, and the results speak for themselves.As the tapes mean a lot to me I genuinely feel very fortunate that I came across the facilities at Greatbear and I can truthfully say that I have been more than delighted with every aspect of the job.Len Bertoia.

Naturally, I was a tad apprehensive about sending a 30y.o. 24track tape from NewZealand. Not much choice as the type (1inch 24 trk recorder) is rarer than hens teeth. There was need need for any anxiety. Adrian has been fantastic to deal with and the results are just fantastic. Greatbear Audio & Video Digitising have digitised a number of DAT tapes and audio cassettes for me over the past couple of years. The work that they do is of an extremely high standard, and Adrian is efficient and clear in explaining, at the start of the process, the best options that are available to get optimum results. Everything is done with great care, expertise and attention to detail. I am certainly planning on sending more tapes to them.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this business. They digitised some 1960's recordings on reel to reel tapes for me, which had been stored in a loft for 50 years. They did a fantastic job. Very helpful and answered all my queries fully.

Fantastic chap. Adrian is truly committed to a fast and professional service with your tape digitisation. I was tasked with digitisation of an old Hi8 tape with a very short amount of time, and Adrian did this very fast.Highly recommend. Brilliant.

Converting old analogue tapes to digital is not a perfect science. I went with greatbear because I believed they were the best around me - which after working with them to convert 21 tapes I believe is true.Very professional, friendly with multiple options to suit your needs - mp4 or Prores 10 bit colour raw" videos. On USB / Dropbox or for me personally (with over 500gb of content) drop a bare hard drive off and have anything copied by them.The videos themselves have come out great and by asking for the Prores 10 bit colour I've been able to deinterlace the video and convert from 25fps to 50fps using ffmpeg which has given me a good quality smooth video. I do not believe the quality of these videos would be nearly as good if I went with other competitors who simply burn your tapes onto DVD.If you want the highest quality copies of your old tapes converted digitally this is the place to go."
