Had a 1 hour trial lesson with Airbourne. Absolutely loved it! Was given control of the aircraft for 90% of the flying time which included Taxing to runway. Very friendly instructor who directed me to fly on an interesting flight path around the area. Definitely will be learning to fly with them!

A great place to learn to fly!I started late in life after taking early retirement. I had a flight experience then was hooked. My instructor is very knowledgeable, encouraging, helpful and most of all patient!It’s a friendly flying club who welcome all ages who want to learn to fly, have fun at the same time and the views are amazing!

Just a brilliant day out, the staff are very friendly and give you plenty of confidence in both them and yourself. Will defiantly be going back for another flight. Thanks to Mike for giving us the talking point of the holiday. Will definitely be going for a flight again next time I’m in the area.

Airbourne Aviation Flight Training School based at Popham Airfield just off the A303I have been learning to fly over the past year trying to complete one lesson every one - two weeks although this is not always possible due to the lovely weather.Airbourne have been very accommodating as I personally travel long distance to use this flying school, a morning weather check with my instructor will usually confirm or cancel my lesson saving me time and expense travelling when unable to fly due to weather conditions.The Ikarus C42 Microlight is a fantastic little aircraft to learn to fly , I was instantly hooked from my first flight which was a lovely trip down to the Isle Of Wight and back to Popham. All of the staff and instructors are very helpful with advice and create a very pleasant atmosphere for learning to fly.The PPL course also involves several exams which are mostly self taught through a small amount of home study although ground school is available for exams such as the RT (Radio Operators Licence ) exam, Airbourne can arrange this for you.With easy online booking system for students and aircraft hire you can pick times and dates to suit your personal needs. Everyone learns at their own pace so weather you want to fast track or take a leisurely pace to your PPL, with facilities such as a flight simulator, Airbourne Aviation has a lot to offer , of course safety is paramount and with expert instructors ground staff and maintenance you are in safe hands. I have now reached the stage I can fly solo, your first solo flight is amazing, thanks to Airbourne I have experienced the thrill of solo flight, if I can you could to, come along and give it a go.

The team at Airbourne Aviation made our 16 year old daughter feel completely at ease with her amazing birthday present. Incredibly friendly, respectful and professional, with loads of fun when up in the air. 100% recommended!

I first began to learn to fly here as a student in March 2000. Subsequent to qualifying, I later returned no longer as a student (although every flight you learn something new!) but as an aircraft 'hirer'. They run a good show, with a pretty slick online system. All very friendly, well maintained aircraft and Popham is a lovely airfield.

Ben the instructor was great!Sat Nav takes you to a different field if you are coming from the north, worth mentioning it on your site.

I've been flying with Airborne Aviation since 2018 both as a student, and for solo hire and recommend them 100%. The school is owned and run by experienced pilots and very friendly/helpful staff on the telephone.The aircraft are lovely to fly and well maintained, and an online booking schedule makes it easy for members to check aircraft and instructor availability prior to phoning up and booking. There is also an approved C42 training simulator which I only used a couple of times, but this was brilliant for maintaining some momentum in my training when the weather was bad.The facilities are excellent with dedicated training rooms, and hot food and drinks available for purchase from the Popham Airfield cafe. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas at the cafe, ideal for family and friends whilst you are flying.The airfield is popular/busy enough that you see a diverse range of aircraft and learn good discipline on the radio, but not too busy (so you are not queuing to take off and you have plenty of time to make your radio calls). I found this to be a perfect balance. I'd recommend having a look at the live webcams (Google 'Popham Airfield Webcams') to get a good sense of the Airfield.In summary, the people, aircraft and facilities at Airborne are perfect for learning to fly and Popham Airfield itself is a lovely place to be based with everything you need.
